How easy is it to get downtown and to all the tourist locations.
Do you need a car?
We are a 5 minute drive to the Don Mills Subway station. You can park your car there for free and take the subway to Sheppard station and then south on the Yonge line.
The hotel is located on the outskirts of Toronto, so you should probably rent a car.
Takes quite a while to get downtown depending upon traffic, like 1/2 hr. You can learn to time your visits to avoid early morning and late afternoon traffic. If you rely on public transportation plan on at least an hour. If that is your interest I would stay closer to downtown.
Hiring a dedicated car would be prohibitively expensive. One side travel to Downtown Toronto from the hotel would be in excess of 50. And if the car waits as you tour the places , the total can reach beyond 400 CAD! Not a good idea.
Easiest route :
Take the Southbound 24A/B/E to Victoria Park Station
Take Westbound Line number 2 and get down at Bloor Yonge station
Take Southbound Line number 1 and reach Toronto Union station.
Voila! You are in Downtown Toronto!
Cost - 3.25 CAD per person one way
yes definitely recommend a car
very easy to drive around
too hot and far to walk places
