Hi, is there much to do for young kids at the castle (aged 2 and 4)?
Understandably for children of that age range, the experience will be a lot more limited, as visiting the castle is primarily for sightseeing and educational purposes. Having said that, the sightseeing alone can be a joyful activity if they have never been to a castle before, especially on top of the towers, just be cautious of the spiral staircases as it can be a tight squeeze to move up and down them.
Sorry for the late response, there are some interactive games, however this is for school aged kids. There is plenty of space inside the castle for kids to play.
My daughter is 7 and she loved in. Lots of steps to go up and down so maybe hard work keeping tight hold of them as some tight spiral stone staircases that were difficult to use.
To be honest , not really. Its basically a shell with a courtryard with a few accessible rooms The climbs to the turrets are very tight spiral staircases so you have to be careful especially with kids. ( I fell down one in Cardiff so have experience of this) . The views are great from the turrets tho , on a clear day.
