Threave Castle Questions & Answers

Is an English National Trust card valid at Threave? The terms and conditions of my membership suggest it is, but some reviews suggest that entry has been denied. Please could someone confirm? Thank you.

I assume it is as the reverse applies to me in England and it used to when up here when I had a NT card. However when I last visited about three weeks ago, the castle was still temporarily closed due to flood damage and a nesting bird holding up the repairs. So check out if it has been reopened if you wish to visit it.

Yes it applies; we checked when we were there and the lady said they had a reciprocal arrangement, it is Scottish heritage that you have to pay for. Enjoy!

Yes, your card is valid- or should be as NTS membership card is valid in England.

Thank you. I know that it should be, but reviews suggest that in practice it isn't at Threave. I'll give them a call.

Hoping to visit the gardens as well, so lack of castle is not a major setback, but thanks for heads up.
