I am looking for the street/building of my husband's grandparents who were forced out of Hannover in the thirties....Planning a trip there next year......Are there records of ownership in this building to aid in my search? Any ideas???
Hello , I looked up how to trace my ancestors and there is lots of info on how to trace ancestors etc. Also my husbands father lives in Germany (not Hannover) and he says to get in touch with the Hannover Rathaus (Town Hall) and they may be able to point you in the right direction. Or if you just look online how do I trace my German ancestors, you may find out how. incidently, we were in Maryland in early September staying at Tolchester in the Chestertown area, and actually drove through Centervile twice. Once when we went to Washington DC and again to Queenstown shopping centre, Centerville looks very pretty. So that is very good that we have a connection. Wishing you all the very best in tracing your relations. By the way it's free to go into the Rathaus in Hannover and is well worth a visit, it's easy to get to on the metro. Good luck
Unfortunately I don't know if there are records of buildings but I guess they have information about.
Anyway, the place is so beautiful and worth to visit and spend some time to enjoy the siteseing.
