Oh dear...have I panic bought? We are a couple with an 8 year old: holidays are generally a bit of time out for us as our daughter makes friend and enjoys the discos (though this is less now). I can't see many family reviews :(
We are here at the moment with our 13 year old daughter - there are not many children here at all especially English - this hotel is definitely more or a German /Norwegian hotel . However it is what you make it and there is nothing really other than the pool for the children . I advise going to Martinez at the bottom of the hill
It's amazing have a lovely holiday xx
They do have evening entertainment but most centered around singers. However, don't despair as you are only 2 mins from the centre of the town and taxis are very cheap - one goes past front of the hotel every few minutes. There is lots going on to keep the kids busy at night and there is a small fun fair normally adjacent to the central square.
Sorry but this hotel does not really cater for families..but if you go down to the front during the day.... there is an enclosed complex idea for families £5 entry. Ps make sure your upstairs and not downstairs in the hotel because upstairs has had a revamp
When we were there, even though we were told when booking the Hotel did not allow men to wear shorts for Dinner, plenty of people were.
Hi, the only thing I can say is that we went out of holiday season, there were not younger children when we were there, only toddlers and there were no advertised children's activities. Maybe in the holiday season it is different. Not sure if the hotel next door have any programmes that you could use, I think you could possibly go in there but unsure. If the weather is really good, I would suggest you pay for entrance to the Loco Martianez down by the sea front, open air sea pools with sunbeds, changing facilities etc. You will not want to swim in the sea at Puerto as although it is very clean, it is quite rough in terms of current. You can buy a weekly ticked, good value if you use it regularly. If you hire a car, do so before you leave through Thomsons website. We booked a 3 day hire with Orlando Car Hire which is close by, good value and you can then drive to Santa Cruz La Terecitas beach which was incredible, plenty of parking. You can also drive up to the base of El Tiede, magnificent views up there and enroute as you pass through the cloud level and look down! I am told that the Water park, Siam Park is excellent and Loro Park (Wildlife) is first class. I would suggest you look at booking in the UK as you can usually get a much better deal on line in advance. Hope this helps. If there are other children around I'm sure your daughter will make friends but it is not a hotel really geared up for children.
