We walked from our apartment in Sol. Quite a walk but in nice areas.
I do not recall the train/metro stop. It was very easy to navigate Madrid by train though. I took the train to the area then walked a short distance to the museum. The Sorolla Museum, formerly his home is in a town, with a city center -

I took a taxi, very good value compared to local ones in London.
