thank you for your question. I think their outdoor seating place is closed in October just because the weather can change at this time. I was there in the beginning of November several times and it was closed. I like this place inside)))
In my experience (and I live in Vienna), most cafés have their outside seating area up until end of October. Cannot say for sure regarding Oberlaa, but I would be pretty confident that you will be able to enjoy their cakes al fresco if you visited in mid October.
I agree with both Carla and Killie. I would also add that there are a number of Oberlaa locations. We visited quite a few cafes in Vienna last month, including two of their locations. The location in the Naschmarkt does, to the best of my recollection, have outdoor seating available. In fact the weather during much of our late April-early May visit was more like October/November (20 degrees F below normal) and I believe a few hardy souls were taking their coffees outside. The market and the cafe are closed on Sundays. Oberlaa has a web page that you might want to review. Enjoy your visit!
