Hi, we are heading to Port Douglas in a couple of weeks, we have a 16 yo son and 14 yo daughter, what are the top 3 things people would recommend doing, where are they and what would the cost be? Any advise would be greatly appreciated!!

A day trip out to the Great Barrier Reef is at the top of the list. As for pricing, many different options are available, so it really depends on what your choices are. Second is the Daintree Rain-forest, you can do this very cheaply & easily with a Car Hire, or you can pop on a fully guided day tour which picks you up from your apartment. Again it really depends on your budget,. We also offer a gardening program here at the Lychee Tree, free of charge & you may receive a drink of water if you're lucky : 0 )
But seriously, there really is so much to see & do.
There are loads of things to do here, depends on your taste. The guy on Reception at Lychee knew the place like the back of his hand. Obviously depends on what you (or more importantly the kids) fancy, but the beach was amazing, the Rain Forest too. When you arrive at the apts there is a huge area of leaflets, with all sorts of activities and trips to suit all budgets. Driving in the area was easy, so getting about was no problem and a lot of the tours ran pick ups if you don't want to drive. The pool area at the apts was also really nice for a bit of a chill and when I was there is was usually deserted. Use the Reception guy, he is a very good resource of information when you arrive. Send the kids to the leaflet hut while you unpack, they will have your stay sorted in no time.
