I have never been to Panama and want to spend 3 days there to explore and get to know it a bit. If I stay at this hotel, will I be able to visit any of the sights in Panama conveniently? Or is this primarily a relax and get away hotel?
I had a terrible experience and felt i had to express the bad review as the lack of hospitality and the principle of not been contacted by anyone in the guest management after various emails and complaints for thier lack of hospitality....
With that said, the property is nice as long as you dont get a musty smelling room which if not in use often will inevitably happen..... Is it relaxing gettaway property YES, is the beach nice eh not great... if you want alone time great place if you want a lively hoping atmosphere make a diff choice. 3 days isnt much so my suggestion is to stay in the city and hire a great guide to take you about for a more insiders view.
After travelling to many latam countries Panama continues to dissapoint even when I thought after 4 yrs of not going to this hotel guest management would have improved it has not.... will i go back probably but my expectations will be much lower and will make sure that at check out the staff apolies charges correctly avoid being over charged and next time will be super adament about the musty moldy room.... 5star it is not, but its probanly one of the better places to stay on the beach.... due to lack of any quality choices, the service staff are great friendly and making a living, the management on the otherhand is questionable....
Traffic in Panama is terrible. Please consider not renting a car. The Buenaventura is not near anything. It is not an easy cab ride from anything because there is nothing there. While it is a great property, the beach in front of the hotel is not great. It is pitched. The Decameron is a mega resort a few miles away. It is not nearly as nice but the beach is much lovelier. If you want an out of Panama City experience, consider El Valle de Anton.
This is a relax and getaway hotel that is 2 1/2 hours from Panamá City.
The hotel is lovely but quite the distance from the city. You would not be able to avail yourself of sightseeing easily from there and spend most of your time on a bus. There is another famed resort that is much closer to the city, although the beach area isn't quite the same. Frankly, the sand gets so hot that most stay by the pool anyway.
