We are going to be in the same Hotel next month and we are really looking forward. May I ask you how you traveled around Zakopane from Bambi? Is it easy and any ideas where to go and visit? Thanks in return.

Dear Joseph,

to the main street in Zakopane - Krupowki is around 12-15 min walk. You can also use public transport or taxi.

The biggest attractions of Zakopane are:

Cable car to Kasprowy Wierch.

Morskie Oko Lake

Gubalowka Hill

All details you will receive on reception at the spot.

We did a lot of walking. But you can get a taxi if you need to (ask the hotel)

Definitely avoid restaurant/ hotel Sabała! Amazing place to eat is Karczma Bacówka. (Check my reviews from Zakopane)

„Cmentarz na pęksowym brzyzku”, which is one of the oldest cemeteries, is only 15 mins walk from Hotel Bambi. It is something worth seeing. Beautiful architecture! Something completely different. And if you keep on walking another 3-5 mins you will get to the

Gubałówka Cable Car (it will be on your left). There is a market place around it (and on the top of the hill as well), where you can buy lots of interesting things! It is recommended to buy the tickets online. You can climb it too but maybe not in the winter (40mins). Krupowki Street is full of shops and restaurants... that’s the Main Street of Zakopane. And it is just on the other side of the street to Gubalowka. So you can visit all these places on the same day.

Kasprowy Wierch Cable trip is breathtaking. You can take a taxi from your hotel (15mins)

And if you ever decide to go in the summer and you are ready for long trekking then I definitely recommend Giewont, Valley of Five Polish Lakes, cave Mrozna which is on the way to Smreczynski Lake. And so many other things...

We walked a lot. It’s about 15 mins walk to the main pedestrian street. For longer rides in Zakopane we used a taxi. The one that hotel has a number for gives you a discount too. For longer trips out of town there are buses and in high season they are best to use as traffic situation and parking can be very bad.

Certainly go to Morskie Oko, Gubalowka, and up to KASPROWY wierch. Best to buy tickets for cable cars in advance from machines on the Main Street (Krupowki) as you buy those for a concrete hour. For Gubalowka we actually walked up. Other nice trip is rafting on Dunajec for that buy the trip from the hotel at least one day in advance - a full day trip. Great place, not expensive at all. Be careful with restaurants, check rating on trip advisor and avoid anything below 4 stars.

We were there in late summer and found it easy to walk from the hotel into town. Public transport is another option.

Really enjoyed the walks in the surrounding mountains. Would suggest getting your ticket for the main cable car well in advance. You can buy from an automatic vending machine in town. Zakopane was really crowded during our visit.

You can walk to the ski lift from Bambi. Nice walk along the ridge and back down to town.

Hope this helps

Cheers
