Hi, I guess it depends which tour group, I traveled with "Trip a Deal" and they stated in their itinerary all accommodation was 4 star as per my review below and my photos you'll see that the Hotel is nice and the room itself was very big, just the smoke odour was not pleasant (for a non smoker).

The location was handy to the tours they took us to.

This is the first tour I have taken with a group and was very well organised and was a must with the language barrier as we had our own guide.

The restaurant wasn't to bad but other places to have meals next door to the Hotel.

The breakfast buffet was very good a nice selection of food (Australian).

The bed was very hard.

The room unfortunately had a strong cigarette odor (whilst there are no smoking signs in the room).

The room was a good size but did need some upgrading of carpets (stains/aged/rippled etc) whilst had friends staying on the 8th floor and there room was refurbished and very nice and colorful.

Nice and clean bedroom and bathroom and good wi-fi and housekeeping services provided in a very timely manner. The bed was very clean but the bed was very hard- not sure if this is the normal in China.

Great breakfast buffet and also evening meals were okay but the English language barrier was a challenge. Regrettably very few staff could communicate in English
