Chocolate Hills Questions & Answers

Hi. I'm planning on going to Bohol from Boracay. Any suggestions on where to fly to, reasonable hotels or recommended areas to stay at accessible to Chocolate Hills and places to see Tarsiers? Do you have suggestions on other places to see/do in the vicinity?

Thanks for your help!

Hi. I stayed in station 2 boracay. trike to boat 15 mins, boat to boracay airport 15 mins, trike to airport 5 mins. plane to cebu 1 hour, taxi to ferry terminal 1-1.5 hours(depending on traffic), book onto next ferry, 2 hour by boat to tagbilaran port, then we took a 30ish minute trike to Alona beach. great hotels/ restaurants along the beach, we stayed at pyramid resort. People offering tours to tarziers and chocolate hills all around there. it's about 1.5 hour drive to chocolate hills and then you do tarziers, man made forest, butterfly's, loboc river cruise for lunch, python sanctuary, Churches and statues on the way back. Also everyone is offering snorkeling /diving tours to balicasag island to see the turtles.

When trying to book flights... I also weighed up flying from boracay to tagbilaran via Manila, but decided to go for the adventure instead, it's not that bad, but be warned...I booked two Cebu Pacific flights during my trip to the Philippines and they changed the time on both of them a couple of weeks before before we due to fly...so don't book ferries ect in advance just incase.hope some of that helps.x

From boracay to bohol its quite expensive if you take the plane. better go via cebu then ride a fast craft going to bohol its cheper i think. but i depends if you have already purchased a ticket to tagbilaran. their is a day tour already waiting at the pier where you can choose what transpo youu need. it includes the round trip to the pier or to a hotel of your choice i would recommend the hotels in panglao beach lost horizon hotel. but if you plan to stay near the chocolate hills their is a cheep apartel the SHIP House the offer a room for 1800 per nght with breakfast for 2. the day tour includes all the attractions. an while ou are in bohol try ANDA white sand. but its quite far about 100km from the city. but you will love it their. Try also ANDA de BORACAY. i hope i helped you in some way....

Hey!

I had gone to Bohol from Boracay myself. Unfortunately, the trip is a long and tiresome one since there are no direct flights from boracay to bohol (tagbilaran). You would instead need to fly to Cebu and then catch a 3 hour ferry from Cebu pier to Tagbilaran pier. The entire journey from your hotel in boracay to your hotel in bohol can take up the entire day (considering you are getting a quick layover in Cebu). I didnt, and hence had to spend a night in Cebu.

I booked an Airbnb on Panglao island. Most of the beach resorts and fancy hotels are all on Panglao island. However, staying too far inside panglao would mean you would have to drive a lot to get to bohol. However, staying in Tagbilaran might make sense but it is too boring with nothing exciting to offer.

The best way to get to bohol is to rent a scooter and drive yourself. They are quite cheap and freely available. If you prefer not to drive yourself, then book a group minivan which will take you around the island on a fixed itinerary.

On your way to chocolate hills you will pass the famous manmade forest and the tarsier preservation area. Do ensure you spend time at both these places.

Hope I could be of help!
