Chocolate Hills Questions & Answers

Hi, I'm travelling from Cebu. What's the fastest way to travel directly to the hills? I see a couple options. A ferry to tagbilaran or to tubigon. All though tubigon is a shorter journey, a minibus would be the next method of transport down to the area. Alternatively the ferry go tagbilran is a 4 hour boat ride. Is there anyone with advise on time saving?

The answer from Betsy L. is correct. I am here now na, and also arrived from Cebu City, Pier 1. I agree on cost of taxi rental. Also, as you arrive there will be MANY taxi drivers waving signs to you offering rental of their car - stay firm on your price and round trip requirement - to the taxi driver, you are basically renting the car for the day, not the distance (gas should be included and should NOT be an issue). Most likely you will be able to see the Chocolate Hills AND more. Finally, there are more ferries arriving/departing at Tagbilaran than Tubigon, and more transportation available at Tagbilaran, so that should be the preferred port destination. Have a great time!

It's best to ride a fastcraft going to Tagbilaran. I tried SuperCat going to Bohol from Cebu, it was really last minute so I had no choice but buy a business class seat. And good lord it was a good decision!!! Smooth ride and it's air conditioned. Going back to Cebu, I tried Oceanjet. It was way quicker and cheaper than SuperCat, though their business class isn't as fancy. It's air conditioned so it's fine by me! BTW get the window seat!

Take the ferry going to Tagbilaran. When you reach the place, you can rent a car. We paid 2 k plus round trip. It will take you less than a day, that is if you budget your time. For us, we went back to Cebu pass 1 pm. Just tell the driver what you want to see and he will bring you there. We took our ferry reservation in Cebu.
