I only ate at the hotel once. But, if you're looking for vegetarian food, there is a food court right behind the hotel (Tiong Bahru market) that has plenty of vegetarian selections.

Not sure about vegetarian. Taxis are very reasonable here and the is a bus stop outside the hotel. We used both of these and they were ideal. The receptionist is extremely helpful and knowledgeable so will be able to assist you.

I didn't eat there a lot but the veggie pizza I had was excellent. Singapore is pretty small you can walk to many places or take a bus. However, you need exact changes for the bus fee, so instead I took taxi. Taxi is inexpensive and since my time there was short, taking taxi saved me a lot of time.
