I m planning to visit Singapore with my wife and kids. Pls suggest me good hotels where I can get good and cheap food nearby.I want the hotel location must b at nice location in Singapore.
Depends on your budget.....if your concern is the area then geylang is not your place...however it is where you finr cheap comfortable hotels like 88 hotel chains, nearby food stall, exotic food, MRT access like aljunied...etc.....Geylang is where the red light district is located....unless you plan to mingle with the hospitality girls then it will be a problem but if you want is cheap comfortable hotel then go to geylang...if not then consider, little india, china town area and bugis....if you want high end then go to orchard.....i beleive it ranges from 100usd and up............but it is a decent place to stay......we went to singapore last april we stayed in geylang our hotel is just walking distance to KALLANG train station..ice area food is S$2 and up depending on your food........no untoward incident......geylang is also few minutes away from changi airport which is very convenient......good luck to you and enjoy your trip
I liked the IBIS in Bugis. Great location and friendly business/leisure hotel.
Also stayed at Park Regis Close to CQ area. Also great location but they hiked rates a lot after renovation.
Good and cheap food is available everywhere in SG. Just go to any hawker place, especially the Maxwell hawker place that is close to China town.
Hope you enjoy!
As per my opinion all hotels in Singapore are best suited for everyone. You need to decide based on your budget as commuting in Singapore is not an issue as each tourist place is well connected with bus and MRT. Note - Taking a taxi ride is expensive. Regarding food, if you are specific to have only Indian food, Little India is good as it is same as India streets where hawkers are available every step.
Big hotel is not bad. Facilities and service quite decent. Or you could try Beary Nice or Beary Good Hostel in Chinatown. Very close to the station. I heard good reviews and a few of my friends stayed there and they enjoyed their stay there.
South east Asia hotel (seahotel at Waterloo Street) is quite nice, rather old building but clean and decent enough, located in bugis area, easy access by MRT from the airport, as well as near street market, albert centre for cheap meals, or fast-food and restaurants at nearby malls. Try browsing their website or email them for the actual rate.
if you want the place with many foods surrounding, you can choose in little india, but last time i stay on ibis bencoolen which has strategic place, near by everything and also bus stop in front of the hotel, and the great thing are behind the hotel is bugis market which have many foods also you can buy souvenirs there.
However if your preference is Indian food, stay at Little India. There is a mid size Tekka food centre & market where u get abt half of the stalls there selling cheap Indian food.
Along Little India, are many shops selling various Indian food too. There are a nos of budget & 3 star hotels here. Also a big one, Park Royal at Kitchener & Hotel Village.
In Chinatown, you get huge varieties of Chinese, Thai, Japanese, Malay food. But no Indian food at the food centres.
Chinatown street market has the biggest range of souvenirs & the cheapest. Both locations are linked via DTL & NE lines.
We stayed at Hotel Village Bugis with our 2 year old. There were plenty of food varieties for all budgets around there
Chinatown is excellent place to stay if you want really huge choices of cheap & good food. There are 3 med-big good & cheap local food centres here ie Chinatown Complex, Hong Lim Complex & People'Park food centre ( see separate reviews).
Bugis Street has one mid size cheap local food centre ie Albert food Centre.
Both are centrally located with easy access to MRT & buses to most majortourists destinations.
There are many hotels either within these 2 places or nearby (easily accessible by MRT), depending on your budget.
You can check out hotels in these locations & decide then which one suits your budget.
