I am Jai travelling from NewZealand to India on this weekend.Have a transit for 12 hrs at Singapore . Can I spend few hours shopping with my 8 months boy and wife at Bugis after a free tour.
Is it advisable and worth it.
It's worth for you to visit Bugis. A lot of choices of souvenirs. The other options, you could go to China Town too. Bigger than Bugis Street.
If the sole purpose is to "Shop" around, you may visit Bugis and spend 2-5 hrs depending on how "serious" shopper you are!
However, if you want to see Singapore in 5-6 hours, I suggest doing Merlion, Marina Bay Sands area, Flyer and Fullerton walk, Clark Quay, all of which is easy via bumboat ride. I presume you have night time to halt, which will add to the scenic view.
Again, depends how you want to spend, shopping or seeing the city. Have a good time!
Bugis street has many options. Though i agree that it cant be compared to chatuchak ehich is much better and has a lot of variety. If u have time to spare then you can visit it. You can easily hop to shopping malls like bugis+ if u dont like anything at bugis street.
Assuming u will spend 3 to 4 hours on ur free tour. U will hv approx 8 hours more. U can spend sometime at bugis and then goto Changi airport. U hv an 8 month old with u so it can get tiring. Enjoy the transit facility at Changi airport. They have free movies, gaming zones, lounges, swimming pool also. Plan well and u will enjoy. Dont forget to check if u need a visa to enter sg.
I think it's worth it. Bugis has plenty of knick knack memorabilia and ladies wear.
Take the MRT. It's fast and convenient.
Hi I agree you will find cheaper shopping in India, a visit to Gardens by the Bay if you haven't been before, the outdoor gardens where the massive trees are I believe is free, if you want to go into the 2 conservatories it is around S$28 per person. Have a look at website gardensbythebay
Meh.... "wouldn't RUN to it..." Found, for instance, the Chatuchak Weekend Market in Bangkok far superior to this (I know- you're not going there) - surprisingly though, considering the lesser quality wares offered in this place, it barely repeated in all of the stalls - still not claiming there were a lot of quality finds... Go to the Cloud Forest instead - quite the thrill and you will remember the experience!
Well, if you are planning to buy some souvenirs I think it is worth a visit as there are lots of them in Bugis. You will need an hour max 2 hours I think. Enjoy!
we found Bugis street just full of small asian fitting clothes and junk but nothing was cheap.I am sure you could find better and cheaper clothes in India.Spend some time around the promenade of the great gardens or even the Zoo
