Do we need to pay for the entrance?
Yes. The entrance fee for a no resident is 18 SGD. you will get a ticket for all the rooms and exhibitions. One and a half hour will be enough to see the whole area. The restaurant there is pretty nice! Enjoy your time there.
To enter the exhibits you have to pay an entry fee, which covers all special features that are on at the time you are there. Otherwise you are confined to only two small permanent exhibits. Staff monitor those closely without an entry ticket to the exhibits!!! If there are no interesting exhibits on it is worth a look just at the building itself!!
Entry to the Singapore National Museum is free but entry to some displays have charges. Please go to this link to see the details

There were some exhibits that were free and others that had a fee. Unfortunately most of the sections were closed but a lovely building.
Yes, check out the webpage for fees
There are two areas, the first one is free and you can access a very limited exhibition area plus restaurant and gift shop.
Yo do need to pay in order to visit the special exhibition area where the history of Singapore is showcased.
Yeah parts of the entrance are free, but there are sections that have a small fee to view. Well worth it in my opinion. Fantastic museum.
We agree with the other person who has responded.
