Good Day,

Thanks for your Question.

To Answer your questions:

1) Vehicles:

We use three different types of vehicles for the safaris in Addo Elephant National Park.

i) Land Rover (Closed Sides) with windows that can be opened. Usually used for private tours of two to four people but if there are only 2 people on the day this vehicle is often used.

ii) Enclosed Modern SUV with aircon: the same as above

iii) Small buses with 14 or 22 seats (We prefer to not take more than 8 people in a 14 seater and never more than 14 people in a 22 seater).

iv) We do not have any open safari vehicles. Addo Elephant National Park does not permit any operators or guides to operate open safari vehicles in the national park (Unlike many other of our reserves and national parks). Currently Addo Elephant National Park and local Lodges are the only ones permitted to offer open vehicle safaris in Addo. Local Lodges are only permitted to offer these tours to guests that overnight at their facility.)

2) Open Vehicle Safari:

i) We can book the open vehicle safari for you. The only option available to you would be to use Addo Elephant National Park’s services.

ii) Please note: The Open vehicle game drives in Addo are only two hours in duration and starting times are 09h00, 12h00 or 15h00 (They also have them at 06h00 and 19h00).

iii) Addo Elephant National Park does not offer anything longer than a two hour game drive.

iv) They use two different vehicles: The smaller ones are 3 seats across

(v) Please note that Addo Elephant National Park does not offer private tours in their vehicles, they will try and fill each vehicle. Seating is not guaranteed and is done on a first come, first served basis.

vi) At the moment none of the game drive vehicles in Addo are fitted with a working speaker and microphone system. They are working on this.

We trust this information is helpful in answering your question.

It was a great pleasure assisting you.
