how many hours do you anticipate to be spent here? how long is each flying display demonstration? Thanks!
We were there around three hours. Some people came in walked round the aviaries once, saw a display and left after about an hour and a half, but you'd miss so much doing this. Each display is different, we saw three different demonstrators and the birds are always different from one demo to the next. They lasted about half an hour each and are spaced out during the day with a couple of hours between each. We had lunch in between and had a mooch around the little shop too. There are often workers cleaning out aviaries who answer any questions. They are so knowledgeable and care for the birds so well. They also fly some birds in the demo arena to exercise/ rehabilitate/train birds not taking part in the displays. Really hope this helps and you enjoy it.
You can spend anything from an hour to a day there.
Demos are 11.30, 2 and 4.15, last 30 to 45 mins and each consist of different birds.
With lunch, either in the cafe or take your own, and time looking round the aviaries, you can fill the time between demos. Keep an eye on the flying field as the fly birds "off demo" where you are welcome to watch but the staff aren't microphoned.
We spent about 3 hours there. A display is about 25 mins long but ask in advance what times they will be so you can plan etc
At least 3 hours. That way you will be able to see all the aviaries plus two flying displays, both of which are different. A flying display lasts about half an hour but it does depend on how the responsive the birds are to their handler and what type of birds are flown.
