My boyfriend and I have never been to Sonoma before. We are interested in a place with some sort of access to a winery shuttle from this location so we don't have to drive to the various vineyards?
you have a couple of options for wine tours. For a group tour service you can check out Platypus Tours. Which is $125 per person plus gratuity & tasting fees. Your other option is Stacy's Wine Tours Designated Driver Service the rate for 2 people is $39 an hour plus gratuity with a minimum of 5 hours. Tour itineraries are based on your wine palate, experiences you would like to have and price points. We specialize in small boutique wineries in both Napa & Sonoma and help you to take the guess work out of the 700 tasting rooms in Sonoma and over 500 tasting rooms in Napa. Hope this helps.
Hi Alicia, I too highly recommend An Inn 2 Remember if you need a great place to stay. It's right off the Square with lots of restaurants, the Sonoma Cheese factory (they actually make cheeses) and the bakery!! But if you're staying with Alice know she 'll be creating a terrific breakfast for you. I'd suggest you google Sonoma wine tasting and find out all the options you have for wine tasting. There are a lot of different ways to visit wineries. There are bus, bicycle, limo and private tours. There is also a wine train. Then ask the folks where you are staying with for their personal favorites. It's helpful to know what wineries you are interested in or the kind of wine you like.I f you have no preference I'd like to suggest at least one of the large wineries and a coupe of small, lesser visited ones. Your experiences will be quite different, especially on the weekends.
P.S.I grow wine grapes in Paso Robles and have family history in Sonoma) I hope you enjoy Sonoma, it's a wonderful place.
We only had 1 night in Sonoma so we didn't have a full day to do a tour around the wineries but we did go to the wine tasting rooms on the square which are all walking distance. I would also email Alice who runs An Inn 2 Remember because she was very helpful with any questions I had about the area and may know someone she can recommend.
There is no shuttle. There are several wine tasting rooms in the plaza and wineries nearby you can use the bikes offered by the Inn to ride to -- very fun! Sharon and Colleen with Valley of the Moon are an awesome option for transportation!!! They will meet you at the Inn and drive your personal car, they also give great recommendations and tips for wineries that based on your preferences would fit you best! And it's so much more personal than a shuttle or group tour! They were very knowledgeable and fun!! They went to get us lunch at s nearby deli while we were enjoying the winery, delivered it is us to enjoy a picnic lunch, keep us on a schedule so we were sure to get the most out of our day in wine country and was sure to keep us hydrated ;). Highly recommend!
