How late do you serve food on Friday/Saturday nights during the summer months when the local area is booming with tourists who might like something to eat while they have some drinks??

Thank you for those inspiring words of advice, Maggie C. Based upon your own (several) one-star reviews (with special attention given to your statement, "...because there was not a single restaurant in the area where you can sit down and have a decent meal aside from fast food"), it's apparent that you practice what you preach.

For you to pass judgment on people because of their opinions that are based upon their own personal experiences is truly what's "absurd" here. As I said before, you don't know us and have no right to speak rudely about us. Any "shame" here falls into the hands of the business who fails to recognize areas for improvement...which they'll never be aware of if everyone just sugar-coats their reviews to make them acceptable by Maggie C's standards. How fortunate for Rick's Cafe that they have you to defend them!

We never asked for your opinion on our opinion, so..."if you don't have something good to say..."

Island Boston Boy - I read your other Maine restaurant ONE STAR reviews - particularly Ricks Cafe in Naples. Incredible. Absurd review; which, if you gave it a modicum of thought before hitting “submit”, can have a severe negative impact on the business, the employees and their income and the families they support. All because you need a nosh after 9 pm. ONE STAR? Really? If you don’t have something good to say... shame on you. Your Ricks Cafe review speaks volumes. Keep up the“charm”.

So pleased that you find my question amusing, Maggie C.

Had it been a late-night drinking hole that we were looking for, we would have inquired about that, not about the kitchen service. Furthermore, if a business is concerned about being thought of as such, perhaps they should consider removing the word "tavern" from the name of their business.

Word of advice: Don't assume that people are unkind and mannerless just because they would appreciate being able to find a place to eat past 9pm in a popular tourist area on a Friday evening during the busy summer months, or because they speak candidly about their experiences. You don't know us and have no right to imply those things about us. My husband is the most charming man anyone will ever meet, but all the honey in the world doesn't make the kitchens stay open any later, nor does it help a business realize areas for improvement.

Pretty sure the kitchen closes at 9- 9:30pm. They open at 11:30 am. “Booming” - that’s funny! Word of advice: Be kind and use your manners when you visit us. You’ll get more with honey...Plenty of places to eat with bar food and drink after 10 pm. This fine establishment is not a late night drinking hole.
