We are flying into Newark.....what is the best way to get to the hotel? Is the subway convenient?
And if we arrive before check-in, will the hotel keep our suitcase? Thx!
Yep, the hotel will store your bags. I've never tried taking the subway, I think it would involves taking the airport monorail to the train station, a train from the airport station to the Newark downtown station and then the PATH train from Newark downtown to Newport, so a lot of changing, and then you'd have a 5-10 minute walk from Newport. A taxi costs $51 from the airport to the hotel (its $46 flat fee plus $5 tolls, that's before tip) Uber/Lyft costs approximately $18 (depending on time of day).
Yes, Hotel will keep your suitcase if you reach early. subway might not be convenient as you might have to interchange mostly. If you can take Uber, it will be perfect since it is around 10 miles.
Use Uber or the the train to Newark station, change here for the path train to Newport. From the Newport station to the hotel is a 10 min easy walk. Train+path will cost you around $ 10,-
I've done Uber and Cab to Nework for something like $20. It wasn't awful. Jersey City has Path access as well as light rail, but I'm unsure of the route.
The hotel would hold your bags without thinking twice. Great folks over there. Enjoy!
