Im driving up from california in june . is the weather fair at that time of the year. And do the seals tend to be more active
Last time we went there, the weather seems sunny though it is advisable to wear pants and just in case a jacket sea breeze there is a little bit chilly but ordinary. Seals occasionally lay low to chillax and actively unpredictable but the view is stunning. June is just perfect.tc
Its nice in the summer months, that is ofcourse if you dont mind the wind. It may look sunny and warm, but the wind cuts like a knife on the coast. Always pack extra hoodies, especially if you are doing beach activities. The sea lions are typically out of the cave beaching them selves in the sun, so I would recommend pulling off the 101 HWY just a few blocks north of the caves, and peering over the edge. You will find it's a lot cheaper, better smelling, and more than likely all the sea lions will not be in the cave. You will see other cars pulled off at the lookout. Also, if you go to the tip top of Cape Perpetua ( north of caves bout 10 miles)... It is one of the most breath taking views you will see. and certain months, great for spotting pods of whales.:)
Take a drive to Newport where there were hundreds of sea lions in the harbor and you could see the, very close .
I was there in July. Weather was nice. There were not many sea lions in the caves , but we could see them along the shoreline from the viewpoints.
Pretty fair weather in June usually. there is almost always seals in the caves
. not very active in the caves
The weather is usually pretty fair in June, but there are no guarantees here on the Oregon coast! Chances are always good you'll see the sea lions.
