Sunflower Hotel Questions & Answers

Lincolnshire, United Kingdom

Just read about the sun terrace and pool not being available......does this mean a walk to the beach everyday? I am going with my daughter in a few days and the roof-top terrace was one of the reasons for choosing this hotel :-( Too late to change hotels now.

Dear Emlutoms_mum,

Thank you for your question.

As it is advertised on our website, our outdoor pool and bar area is open between May & October. During April the outdoor pool and terrace is closed due to refurbishment and for preparation works for the opening in May.

We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience. Unfortunately refurbishment works are a must to ensure the good quality of hotel’s facilities.

We are looking forward to welcoming you at Sunflower Hotel.

Kind regards,

Vera Zelles

I wouldn’t use the indoor pool unless they have decided to clean it. Most jacuzzi water jets blocked and the ones that work have black bits in the water. Dirty around edges and a scum layer at water level around the side.

It would appear so. And if you know Malta there is no “beach” nearby. Rocky access to water only at Qawra. I was told pool closed until end of month. I was gutted.

Hi all, The rooftop pool was closed as confirmed by the hotel although on the information screen in the hotel lobby there was no mention of it being closed and it wasn't mentioned when we checked in either. We did go and have a loo and the door was locked with a notice advising it was all closed.

Interestingly we did go into the indoor pool and the 'once' jacuzzi, (looks like a jacuzzi with seat inside and water jets) doesn't work and when my daughter enquired she was told that this wasn't a jacuzzi but a Childrens Pool!!!! The hotel were just lying through their teeth. There is no way this is 3 star - 2 star at best.

I will be sending an email to the travel agent used to book as there are now two things that she either was aware of and didn't tell me or she wasn't aware of.

1 - the roof pool terrace being closed

2 - Half board plus!! If you book Half Board only no drinks are included.

Not a happy guest but now trying to make the most of it.

I am now wondering if coffee is included with breakfast

We were there 2 weeks ago and the rooftop pool was open - the pool bar was closed but you could still sit on roof terrace and use the swimming pool.

The pool was open when we went in March, but it wasn't attended and the café was closed. But all accessible (unless it's now closed!)
