yes, agree you need a car, it would be a long walk and it is hilly, the roads are also narrow so extra care when the light is poor

Steve and Daniel are right! You do need a car. Public transportation is not good and the road is narrow with little space for walking .

Unless you are writing with your Gore tex and walking boots in the corner I would say you need a car. Road walking is also dangerous in Spain and you are looking at a 10km round trip. The coastal walk is more rewarding. I would save my legs for a walk around the gardens at Cap Roig.

The village proper is a bit more than 5 km from the parador, mostly uphill. The road surface is fine but people often drive fairly fast and the shoulders are almost non existant.

Hi, you will definitely need a car to get into Begur. It is a long steep and long walk, from memory about 4 kilometres. I walk a lot and won't walk it. Great place though, we are already planning our return but this time staying longer. A car is pretty much essential on the Costa Brava unless u are happy to just enjoy your lodging. Hope this helps.

Sorry but we didn't go into Begur as it was a quick stopover. Think it may be quite a walk! You can get to the beach though. It's a little steep but quite easy.
