I can't get my head around the upgrade option for this hotel. I have booked a '1 bedroom apartment with balcony/terrace' for 10 days in May next year through Travel Republic. There was a cheaper room described as 'Studio' but I chose the more expensive option as I would expect it to be bigger (and more comfortable). However on reading the reviews here, I am now wondering whether it would be better to change my booking to the cheapest option of 'Studio' and then upgrading with the hotel directly. I would prefer to have a refurbished room (preferably with air conditioning) and it would make sense to me to book the cheapest possible room through Travel Republic and then upgrade?? Does anyone have any advice on what rooms are available to upgrade to - for example is there an equivalent refurbished one bed apartment or would I only be offered an upgraded Studio for the extra cost (in which case it would seem more economical to book a Studio initially through the booking operator)?
I booked a studio last year then emailed the hotel about a upgrade they sent me a email with pics of the upgraded apartments ,I chose one and just payed the difference in price because the upgraded rooms all have a set price each , hope this helps,Dave
