What are the apartment rooms like please ? Me and my family r staying this December 2017 x
Myself and my family have just left. Really wouldn't recommend.
To be honest I don't know, I eat there but have not stayed there, the open area's of this hotel are of a high stylish standard and very clean and well presented, staff most welcoming, the food great, but as for the appartment's can't comment, as I'm in sort's a bit of a local guest as it were, I travel up from the west coast a good hour's drive away on a dreadful road to eat! so there food is more than good, so I can't answer in truth, but I'm sure they will be great as every thing this family do, they do to the highest of standard's. I hope this help's
the apartments inside are functional and alright. Nothing luxurious but clean. Ask if you have an upstairs one or downstairs. We were booked one upstairs flat and despite a huge staircase to get to it (so careful if you are bringing lots of bags, pram, wheelchair or even just travelling with young kids...) once inside you have 2 floor levels. The main lounge was spacious with sofa and fully equipped kitchen then next to it a master bedroom, bathroom and toilets then another wooden staircase to get to the other room (double bed) from that window above you can see the sofa and lounge. If young kids you will need a baby stair-gate for safety reasons.
Downstairs flats were nicer easier to access safer as level but smaller.
Be aware you won’t be in the main building as the flats are located down the road and there is no parking on site as only residents holding permits can park along the appartement. So you will have to leave your car at reception and walk 5min to get to your flat.
We didn’t stay because the staff was unhelpful and rude that day but I have heard from other people if you are on a good day, it can be quite pleasant. The food in the orangerie restaurant was nice.
Another thing to consider the hotel is located in a village Barrow in Furness which is like so quiet nothing there but a pub next to the flat no shops unless you go to the next town (10-15min drive) so make sure you bring stuff with you as you will struggle to buy anything on site. The hotel is ok for a stop or WE but anything longer the kids would be bored nothing like the usual animated lively places in the Lakes. On your way there is a Booth shop where you can stop to get things before arriving.
Hope that helps :)
