How to get there:

By Car: From A229 follow signs to Cranbrook town centre.
Postcode: TN17 3JU
Parking: Free parking is available opposite the Crown Pub on the High Street. Signposted by Co-op car park.

Bus: 5 (Maidstone-Hawkhurst) hourly, Mon-Sat. 1 journey, Sun.
297 (Benenden-Tunbridge Wells) 2 hourly, Mon-Sat. 298 (Matfield-Tenterden) 2 journeys, Sun only

Points of Interest

1. Point 1

Starting from near the White Horse Inn on the High Street, head up the steps past the church and follow the path through the cemetery.

2. Point 2

Continue along the path as it enters into a playing field. Pass play area and follow the fenceline to the road.

3. Point 3

Beware of traffic. Go down steps and cross the road to continue on the footpath. Pass through kissing gate and follow the path close to the fenceline with the field on your right.

4. Point 4

On reaching a waymarker post, turn right to follow the High Weald Landscape Trail along hedgerow. Continue to follow HWLT signs along field edges untill you reach a footbridge.

5. Point 5

Cross footbridge and follow footpath along edge of field on the left. Bear left through a gap and head across field towards houses and gate at road.

6. Point 6

Go through gate and turn left to walk along road for a short distance.Take care on road.

7. Point 7

Turn left to follow footpath sign towards Crane Farm. On reaching a junction, bear left to continue on surfaced path.

8. Point 8

Cross bridge and follow the path ahead past a house on your right.

9. Point 9

Go through gate and continue following the path ahead.

10. Point 10

Turn left at waymarker post to pass through gate and follow track towards house. Nearing the house, as the track bends round to the left, bear right to follow path through two gates. On reaching the stables, turn right to follow the track.

11. Point 11

After a short climb, turn left off the track to follow the footpath straight across the field.

Turn right at point 11 if you want to visit Sissinghurst village

12. Point 12

Go through kissing gate into woods and follow path to another kissing gate. Come out of the woods and follow the path ahead. Follow this path all the way back to the road and retrace your steps past the church, back to where you started.
