  • Sydney has a fantastic public transport system complete with friendly staff to guide you in the right direction. Use the bus, train or ferry to get where you need to be. The city itself, though it can be hilly, is great for walking.

We stayed nearby and enjoyed many strolls through the gardens at several times of day. There are a good variety of plants and a fabulous view of the harbour from most places within. Its hard to believe such a sprawling city is out there as it such a place of peace and calm. Its a free activity and the spectacular views it affords you are priceless.

I've stayed here 3 times in the past 2 years. The rooms are spacious and clean with a very comfortable bed. The lovely marble bathroom has plenty of natural light and high quality toiletries. Plenty of tv channels to keep you entertained or if you prefer you can relax in the swimming pool or spa. The location is fantastic & there are plenty of eating options to suit your needs both within the hotel (we didn't dine in this time) or in the surrounding area including a great cafe across the road. Without a doubt it is the fabuous staff that have me return. Warm and friendly, knowledgable and extremely helpful they really are world class. I'd like to give a huge credit to the housekeeping staff. The rooms are always beautifully clean and without fail they are polite and friendly whenever you pass them. Also Alie in reservations has been fantastic during my past 2 visits so by all means don't hesitate to contact the hotel direct for any of your needs. I cannot reccomend the Radisson Blu highly enough, by all means go see for yourself.

This is the place to be at sunset. A nice stroll through the Botanic Park on a warm spring evening is a lovely end to a jam packed day. The sun setting behind the Opera House shows why, besides the friendly people, Sydney is such a favourite tourist destination. Another stroll brings you to the House itself or in 15 mins you can be back in the city centre itself. If you are going to Sydney make some time to do this, it's beauty at its breathtaking best.

Wow, what a breathtaking view. There are around 200 steps to get to this lookout but it is so worth it. The story of building the bridge is told through storyboards as you make your way up. However the view is the star and with a harbour that glistens like a gemstone it can only be spectacular. It cost $11 to climb up but is a great alternative to those unable to climb the bridge itself. The high glass surounding the lookout makes you feel very safe. I'm terrified of heights but had no problems here at all. It is a bit tricky to find but if you find the bridge walk entrance you'll find the friendly staff happily pointing you in the right direction (about 150m to the left, haha). I highly recommend this to all.

The library is a great place to visit. Stay for a little or a long time as there are many exhibitions and of course books! We had a nice lunch in the cafe also. Its worth going just to see the early map of Australia tiled into the majestic entrance hall. The main reading room is awesome in size and a place I could've stayed much longer except for the beatiful sunshine awaiting me outside. Situated near the Botanic Gardens the library is worth a visit.

This is a great little museum that offers an interesting insight to our history and is well worth a look. Telling the history of the use of the barracks each of the 3 levels tells a story of a different era. Its well presented with an audio guide. There is a computer to look up any historic relatives. I found the treasures found amongst the floorboards and grounds to be the most interesting as they tell the best story of the humanity that travelled through. Set in a lovely area of Sydney its a great addition to your day out.

We enjoyed our BridgeClimb experience but it doesn't come cheap. The staff run the show like a well oiled machine. The safey briefings are thorough but not overwhelming. The climb itself is not too difficult as long as you have a reasonable fitness level (we are in our late 40's). The views are spectacular and we had a beautiful clear day. Our guide, Cas, was fun and informative and at no point did we feel unsafe. I did find the inside staff all seemed to talk by rote. We paid online for 2 photos when we booked and that turned out to be a good cost effective move.

This cove of beach is famous and a must see. You don't need to swim (between the flags if you do though!) as there are eateries and shopping galore. Morning, noon and night you will find something going on. I like to catch the early bus and enjoy a leisurly breakfast followed by a stroll on the beach before too many people arrive.

Escape the hustle and bustle of the city and take a stroll through the wonderful gardens to the Opera House. It really is a great avenue to approach this iconic building. The gardens are beatuful and the views of the water are always so calming. You can also easily walk to Mrs Macquarie's Point, with it's convict carved sandstone chair, and enjoy all thats on offer there.

The building is quite huge and the recent renovations have made it quite grand and clean. Melbourne is quite soulless but The Star feels more welcoming. We found the table staff friendly and informative however the staff behind the bar were snooty and pretentious. The smokers area has fantastic views worth a look even as a non smoker. All in all a fun night but high value table minimums meant I went as an observer not a player.

We enjoyed a lovely afternoon in Manly and it all starts with the Manly ferry. A 30minute ride each way between Circular Quay and Manly with geat veiws around the harbour as you travel. We were lucky to see the harbour at sunset as we came back into Sydney and I highly recommend you time your trip as its spectacular.
