Being Vegetarian, you can head for Bencoolen Street just past IBIS hotel (at a major junction/crossroads of AlbertStreet) and find the Fortune Center. Several vegetarian cafe/eateries here all under the same roof -both on ground floor and upstairs a level. Alternatively, if you prefer Indian Vegetarian food you can go in the opposite end of Bencoolen street and cross over the main road into Little India(just ask anyone as soon as you reach Sim Lim Square) Many Indian vege and non-vegetarian eateries open day and night there. Komala's is one which although in my opinion has small portions tends to be good quality and popular. In any case, where Komala's is located are several other mainly Indian Vegetarian restaurants. One tip, if in the Fortune center, it tends to be very busy at lunchtimes due to local office workers so seats may be limited. Best come a little early before 12 or after 1:30pm onwards

  • Best buy a smart card to use on both buses and MRT system together -can buy at most MRT Metro stations. Catch a double decker bus and sit on the top but NOT in the rush hour!

Newly built hotel just a few years old. Rooms tend to be smaller than the photograph but are comfortable.(in other words the rooms look much larger in the pics than what I experienced) TV/BAR Lounge and meals served in the Lobby area iff needed but personally there are so many restaurants in the area including local food courts you could go there instead. Bugis Junction for the young and trendy is around the block. Can walk to Little India from here if you are energetic.

    Tips
    • Nice TV/bar lounge in Lobby area if you fancy a drink and snack meal (if you can afford it as usually verything tends to be++ (plus plus) on the bill

Mainly Muslim store and cutomers but Personally I'd avoid Sundays here as the whole of the migrant labour/worker population tends to congregate around and inside here just for something to do -so if you don't like crowds either come very early or choose another day. Open 24 hours as far as I recall. Lots of sundries, dried and fresh foods as well as frozen . Can even buy a vegetarian burger and hot milk tea outside the door. Be aware your bag may need to be stored before you go in the store or it will have to be tied and clipped by security.

The ocean around this area is full of industrial tanker ships. However, if you find a good spot you may, just may be able to walk into he water's edge and paddle your feet but I do not think it is clean enough to swim-though some people do.

    • Can rent a bike here but they will require a deposit. Fit? You could try walk from Marina parade at the main bus stop there. Taxis can be hard to find when leaving East Coast Park

Can be really hectic here on the weekend and that includes getting here via MRT/Public transport. All the very best that a Modern City can provide here -even have a famous Marks and Spencer department store which sells quality foods. Food Republic can be reached from here.
