Andrea D's City Tips

  • The weather in Bangalore can be unpredictable at times. Hence carrying an umbrella and sweater or shawl is a must.
  • Most restaurants have a service charge added to the bill, but do leave a tip behind as generosity always goes a long way.
  • Irrespective of the mode of transport, round up the fare for the tip.
  • The best modes of transport within the city are auto rickshaws, tuk tuks, or cabs.
  • Don't know the local language? No worries. Bangalore is a cosmopolitan hub, hence most people including autowalas (drivers) speak in English.

    Andrea D Says:

Bangalore is known for its popular South Indian breakfast traditions, and no trip is complete without having some utterly-butterly delicious 'dosa' (a type of crepe). Formerly known as CTR and now renamed as Shree Sagar, this place first opened its doors to the public in the late 1920s. This iconic restaurant is a buzzing hole-in-the-wall serving traditional specialties with absolutely no frills or fancies, just simple, yummy food.
