I love to travel. I am not happy unless I am planning a new adventure, returning to a beloved city, or blazing a trail to somewhere I have never been before. My favorite places in the world are London, New Orleans, Disneyland, and Salem, Massachusetts. I also love to write about everything and anything to do with travel. This beautiful botanical park offers over six miles of hiking trails, and some of these trails are even paved for cyclists or wheelchairs. Visitors may view over 80 protected species of plants and animals as they explore the stunning scenery - best to go early in the morning before the heat of the day really sets in!
Be sure to stop in the Visitor Center for maps, brochures, directions, recommendations, or even to use the public restrooms. Plus, check out their display, including a British cannon from the 1700s.
Key Largo Parasail offers beautiful views, safe equipment, and an unforgettable experience! Guests are in the air for about ten minutes, and they may fly single, tandem, or triple.
This state park offers myriad water activities, including swimming, fishing, snorkeling, scuba diving, kayaking, and canoeing. The coral reef is located a few miles offshore, and the snorkeling tour is a great way to experience the diverse, aquatic life. Guests could easily spend an entire day here, or they may choose one or two activities.
Lucy is one of Key Largo's best restaurants, attracting locals and visitors alike! Serving fun dishes like Chicken 'n' Doughnuts, the casual, artsy atmosphere and memorable food are an undeniable match!
The African Queen Canal Cruise is a 90-minute adventure that takes visitors down the Port Largo Canals. Dinner cruises are also available.
Harry Harris Park offers guests a nice, man-made beach on the Atlantic Ocean that is great for sunbathing and swimming, as the waves are shallow, due to a coral rock barrier. Visit for a few hours, or for the entire afternoon! This is a public beach, so just don't expect a beach club atmosphere and you will have a wonderful time!
This fantastic center offers visitors a chance to learn more about injured birds in Key Largo, while getting up close and personal with them! Guests walk down a boardwalk, stopping to visit the birds and read informational plaques.
Shell World is a phenomenal gift shop that offers souvenirs, t-shirts, and you guessed it — shells! The prices are reasonable, so be sure to browse to your heart's content.
A visit to the Old Road Gallery is a must when anywhere near Key Largo! This incredible space showcases plenty of art, including pottery, sculptures, glass, and paintings.
Dolphin Cove offers a truly unforgettable experience, inviting guests to interact with dolphins in their natural habitat! Visitors may swim with the dolphins, or spend time with them in shallow water, which is great for young children.
The Buzzard's Roost is located at the Garden Cove Marina, and offers lunch, dinner, and a fantastic Sunday brunch. They offer creative, waterside dining, or guests may opt to dine inside in air-conditioned comfort.
