Since Portland is the bike capital of America, it would be almost a crime not to hop on two wheels while you're here. The city is incredibly flat, so biking makes for a fun and easy way to explore the city and cover a lot of ground quickly. On a bike tour, you can get the lay of the land — and learn a little while you're at it.

The International Rose Test Garden (also known as the Portland Rose Garden) is the oldest public garden in America. As its name implies, the garden's primary purpose is to test new rose varieties, the oldest rose testing program in the country. Each year, the city of Portland awards a Gold Medal to the best introductions, which are then planted in the Gold Medal Garden.
