Stayed here a few times now on our way to visit friends in Cornwall, and thought it was about time I left a few words of recommendation. The food is top quality, especially the Sunday roast, my only complaint is that it is not on the menu everyday! It is a pub/Inn in the centre of a village with a real community spirit. We stayed in room 1, over looking the beautiful square. and church., a large double room with the comfiest bed, lots of tea/coffee and fresh milk in the fridge, along with plenty of cereals, bread, jams etc toaster. It's not the quietest place but you are welcome to join in. The staff are a great bunch of people and everyone was very helpful. Children are welcome and with the lovely beer garden makes it a great pace for all the family ( i think children are welcome up til around 9pm). Absolutely love this place

Stayed one night while cycling from Lands End to John O'Groats so a good night's sleep was needed! Unfortunately there was a band on in the bar till 12.15am and asour rooms were above the bar sleep was impossible till then. If we had known we would have stayed elsewhere ( we had booked in advance). Food was good but we think we should have been warned.

I do apologise we would normally let people that are staying know that we have music on. Why you weren't told I don't know why but I have told all staff that they are to tell bookings when we have live music on. Again I apologise and hopefully we can be of help in the future.

Parking near the Tally Ho! not easy. Three of us ordered the steak, mushroom and ale pie with suet crust pastry. The portion size was enornous and it was absolutely delicious. It came with four veg plus chips. (We were asked if there was anything wrong with the veg as we hadn't finished it when the table was cleared - if only we had the room!) Definitely one to put on the list of great food. Just make sure you arrive with an empty stomach

Just stopped here for a night ....... what a great little proper pub.

All staff were welcoming and rooms were more than adequate for a night or two.

Good choice of food and beer brewed on site was ace!

Room rates were very reasonable ......... couldn't recommend it higher.

We stopped at the Tally Ho for 2 nights and were delighted with the pub. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. They really made sure we were happy and nothing was too much trouble!! The room was small but well equipped. And the food was fantastic!!! The young chef was surprisingly accomplished. He made the best steak ale and mushroom pie ever!!! We would definitely recommend the Tally Ho. Hope to go back one day.
