My family including my wife and son stayed for a weekend here. Very nice experience compared to other places. Everything is very very excellent clean room/toilets/etc. Also very nice food with fresh fish from dam. Also morning Safari give good view and some wild animals too..
Judging by others' reviews and pictures all tree top huts are not the same. Ours had little more room than the bed and we had to take it in turns to get to the wash basin which was in the room. The bathroom had no shower and the toilet listed to one side when sat on. No soap or toilet paper was...

Judging by others' reviews and pictures all tree top huts are not the same. Ours had little more room than the bed and we had to take it in turns to get to the wash basin which was in the room. The bathroom had no shower and the toilet listed to one side when sat on. No soap or toilet paper was provided and only one towel. They did bring these items when requsted though. There was a large metal cabinet which did not open and a large battery in the room
We were situated in the village, the locals were friendly and there were a few shops for snacks or cold drinks. We were the only ones who ate there which was odd. The food was made just for us and was fine but we ate it balanced on our knees sitting on a wall. We asked for a cup of coffee but was told the kitchen was closed. We knew this was basic accommodation but it fell short of others we have stayed in and enjoyed. We had a park guide who took us on a walk and bird watching in the morning which was enjoyable.

We had pre-booked our package - Honeycomb that includes a lunch, dinner and a breakfast, safari (own vehicle), 6 kms trek, a guide accompanying you all through your trip and bamboo rafting in Parambikulam dam. We paid around 8k for 3 members in 1 room in the Honeycomb package. There are other options - Tent, tree house and Island house in varying costlier options. Island package is in mid of the Parambikulam dam - 5 members can stay here - its a 1 km of boating one had to do to reach. Wild life sighting is guaranteed in this place. Parambikulam Honeycomb is located 20 kms from Topslip - a well laid road with dense forests and dams all along the route. The lucky gets to site wildlife enroute.

I've stayed in Thunakkadavu lake tree top hut for a single night. I went there with my wife and my 4 year old kid.
We visited on Monday and we are the only tourists on that day. My wife was scared after seeing the tree top and the location. It's built on the banks of the dam. We are very lucky to see an elephant's family from the room. Room was neat and comfortable. Surprisingly my kid enjoyed a lot.
QBoat ride was awesome and they made a special stop on a small island where we can get down to see some birds and their nests.

Since no other tourists available on that particular day , we were allowed to go for a jungle safari in our rented vehicle. We started next day early in the morning around 6 o clock and the climate was awesome. We could able to see Bison, elephants, Deers and some lizards and biggest teak wood .

After returned from the safari we saw a man catching wish and our guide helped to clean and cook the fish for our breakfast. I've given some money as compliment for the great food.

Totally Awesome trip

Parambikulam village, dam and the main, Honeycomb accommodation (and some others) are all about 25km from the park entrance, which takes nearly 2h on partly rough road that climbs a hillside. Factor this into your timing. Google clearly doesn't…

The Honeycomb accommodation bedrooms are a/c, with ensuite bathrooms of mixed standard. The Rs. 7300 per double room included a good package of a private guide (with some English) assigned to you at park entrance, three copious, tasty Keralan meals and several activities. Good value overall.

Safari in your own vehicle on the first pm. This is a drive to the named teak tree, the only original one remaining in a 70-year-old plantation. Lots of wildlife but a very rough road if you're in a small car.

Tribal dance show is modest, with some opportunity for participation.
Bed coffee then out trekking 6.30 am. Walk in forest around the village, through plantation and original forest. This aspect might well be better starting from the more distant huts. We had fun helping to row the bamboo raft, which is a large, ~12-person raft with high seats, on the reservoir, close to nesting terns.
