Stay in hotel Delfini was my the worst experience ever. Iˇm visiting Greece very often
so I was not expecting luxury accommodation or excellent breakfast but room in hotel Delfini was worse than expected. Bathroom was absolutely terrible: tap does not work, water from shower is running from the tube, hot water is not working every evening,
wc is hard to sweep away and drain pipe is bubbling so you are worried if it's not coming back... The other problem was housekeeping: ladies are not doing their job properly, under the bed was dust all my stay, bathroom was thoroughly cleaned maybe at the beginning of the season ( unfortunately I came at the end), shower enclosure was quite slimy, towels should be changed twice a week but weren't ( I'v lost my patience after 5 days and asked for that), bed linen was not changed for all 11 days of my stay.
I have to say that stay in hotel Delfini partly destroyed my holidays in Lefkada because I mostly felt like a squatter there. Tereza B.
It was our firts time in this hotel. We had a room 508 in new part of hotel. The room is small but brand new, with freezer, TV, A/C and big balcony. Breakfasts are very similar, ham, chesse, butter, some sweet jam, bread, vegetable, croissant, yogurt, some days we had eggs. All is good. Dinners are very good, I like try a new cuisine, Tzatziky was excellent. But some members of staff are slower, sometimes we had to wait about 15 minutes for order a drinks, after came to restaurant. I can recommended this hotel. It is on great place very next to a beach and sea.
We made a booking through travel agency which includes half-board. We are not exactly the couple who is going for the half-board on daily basis. We prefer to go to local restaurants but the travel agency offer only this hotel in Nidri. We went for the half-board three times. First day we came to restaurant and the man who approached us even did not bother himself to greet us but just simply ask "room number". As it was our first dinner we did not know what is the procedure so we told him the room number, than he left and after few minutes he brought the food and left. We wanted to order some drinks but there was no chance. Second dinner was OK and we already knew that we need to ask for drinks immediately. When we came for the third dinner, all tables were occupied and only two tables by sea were available so we took one of them. The lady came to us and asked us if we are coming for a la carte or for half board. When she relised we are there for half board, she told us to go inside, because they would like to have these tables free for those who will pay for a la carte. I am working in hospitality for 17 years and for me it is absolutely unacceptable attitude. If they decided to sell half-board than they should not discriminate these guests. We have decided to leave without the dinner, because this was unacceptable for me. EXIM TOUR ( agency were we bought this trip) should inform their guest that they will be second category guests and I would never ever buy this trip with them. Also the water pressure in the bathroom between 5pm and 7pm is basically zero and you are not able to take the shower. Maybe it is because we have paid extra money to have a view on the sea and the room is located on the 4th floor. Lefkada is nice, but not in Hotel Delfini
First time staying at The Delfini, we have dined there many times for over 12 years but first time staying. The hotel is clean and the location is excellent. Panos, Maria and family are fabulous, welcoming and helpful. Having read mixed reviews regarding the breakfast we were pleased to find it was really nice, the bread is just delicious and having a different choice of eggs, omelettes etc. each morning was lovely. (We could have done without the flies however! ) Our friends had a fabulous room at the front, private and overlooking the sea, however our room was a little disappointing, we were round the side and although we had a nice large balcony with a sea view, every other room down the side of the hotel could see straight into our room and we therefore had to keep the curtains closed all the time which did become quite depressing and sad really. We still had our evening meals there a few times and as usual were never disappointed, the food is fabulous and the terrace is the most wonderful place to sit, eat and enjoy the house wine. I really love this hotel and the people who really can’t do enough for you, but would need to be sure we get a different room ‘when’ we stay there again.
1st time we have stayed at the Delfini although we have eaten here on many occasion in the past, On arrival we were greeted by Panos and Maria who we know well and an unusual bonus, Delfini now has a LIFT. I would recommend Rooms 405 or 406 on 4th floor, we had 406, good size room although bathroom is compact (but no problem) there is a safe and a/c in the room and Wi-Fi is available, from our balcony you have fabulous views out to the Ionian and this is a perfect spot to relax early morning with the sun rising or late afternoon when its cooler having spent a hard day on the beach. Breakfast is 8-10 and as you would expect very continental, ham, cheese, white & brown bread, jams, honey, yoghurt, pastries and an alternative choice each day, whilst we were there it was a) cheese type omelette with peppers, b) scrambled eggs c) hard boiled eggs, tea, coffee and juice, all to be enjoyed sat under the shade of the trees on the terrace over looking the beach. Beach is a 30second walk from the terrace and has beds and sun shades. We stayed on B&B basis as there are so many restaurants close by to chose from, Delfini also caters for this and do excellent lamp chops, Would we stay at the Delfini again most definitely yes, this family run hotel is ideal if you just want to chill and stay in and around the hotel, all the family are friendly, approachable and helpful.
