Setting.... surrounded by the jungle, birds and flowers, in abundance. Excellent staff, very co-operative, and polite. Rooms, neat, clean, and hot water, plenty. Basics, however, very pleasant. A great stay, and memorable. Walking amongst natures canopy, owl calls, and clear skies, one could touch the stars, also the call (s), of the wild. The meals, were ,just like home food, though more elaborate.

Again, I shall start with being very clear about this property. It's not an upmarket star rated place to stay. In fact when I went there the place did not have a heating/ cooling system (like an AC or room heater). However despite the cold and no heating provision, this had been one of the most fulfilling stays I ever had outside my home. It's a budget property that offers way more than why it should at that price range. An experience that's further accentuated by the freedom you have inside the property. Bonfire, walks, services etc.

Why Jungle Lore?
You should live here for the sheer experience of it. It's into the woods by about 250 mtrs (and inside a jungle it's quite a distance - trust me) and river Kosi flows right through your backyard. The view is breathtaking and offers some nice (if not great) moments for photography. The surroundings of the resort gives you a feeling of actually being inside the jungle - especially if you're awake late at night (about 1:00 / 2:00 am) outside your cottage/ tents. And that's something worth experiencing. The noises of the jungle at night, the flowing river, occasional calls of animals alerting you of a presence is truly mesmerising. The property is located close to the Amdanda Gate (to Bijrani range) and Ramnagar city is accessible if you have a personal vehicle.

The Food.
They serve virtually everything, make it well and treat you right from the heart. We have been treated with some really sumptuous meal spreads (for breakfast, lunch and dinner) customised to out requirements and to the extent of the snacks that they served with drinks were customised as well. The cook is awesome and has a perfect balance of local cuisine and famous dishes from the north. From kebabs to parathas to curries to dal every dish had its own character and was made painstakingly. And they just tasted awesome.

The Staff
The staff at the place is terrific. They uphold the interest of the guest in the best possible way. From attending to or requirements about safaris to customising the food for you, they are just there for you. They in fact offer way more than you expected. Like arranging a local guide for a drive to Sitabani Range - inviting us to witness the new property right next door. If you're cold they'd serve you dinner in the room and so on. The list of services they provide is virtually endless. I especially remember Tarachand Ji who's the manager and was our point of contact for this stay. He has been brilliant. And so was the other staff here.

Summary
Overall Rating: *****
Pros: Food, Hospitality, View, Surroundings, Staff
Cons: Lack of heating/ cooling in the rooms (shouldn't be a deterrent unless you're travelling with elderly or children)
Will I visit again: Most definitely YES
Will I recommend: Certainly

Corbett Junglelore is a very basic property to stay. Do not go with expectation to get 5 Star amenities. For that, you can go to some resort. But for those who are wild life enthusiast or really want to experience adventure, junglelore is the place to be! The staff is very helpful and will increase your interest about wild life by sharing their wild life experience. We stayed in deluxe cottage and it was good for 2 of us. Basic amenities were provided and were good. It is located very close to the river. The food is good, nothing extra ordinary, but delicious.
About Corbett Safaris:
Before coming to Corbett, make sure that you have pre booked your safari. It is difficult to get last minute safari booking. And the Canter ride is a waste of time and money. Canters make lot of noise and do not go deep in jungle. There is hardly any sighting. All you see is Deers.
Junglelore will help you with your jeep safari booking as well and its worth every penny. They have very good and experience driver and have good setting with the best guides. We were lucky to have sighted the Bengal Tiger! all thanks to Junglelore.
At night, try to be a bit adventerous and venture out of your room with a good torch. Just flash the light in the surrounding and you might see deers all around and even inside the compound!
But just be little cautious as a leopard might also be around! Do not worry, Junglelore is safe place to be and adventerous too!!
We enjoyed our stay very much and intend to visit soon and again and again!

We booked this place without even looking at the photos. However, after entering the place and the room, we were very happy. The place was in the middle of the forest and near the river. The fear of an animal attack made it adventurous and scary. The food was delicious. However, the service and the location supersedes everything else.

we stayed there for 2 nights in the deluxe cottage ... the room service (you have to go there personally for ordering) was pretty much ok.

the location of the camp was very good as we could actually have the feeling of nature engulfing you. do not expect any luxuries other than a fan and a cooler. they have proper power backup. no televisions... very close to corbett tiger reserve... best time is between 15th sep to 15th oct if u wanna relax.. if u are there for the tigers then after 15th nov ...

all in all with bonfires and other small activites it is a pretty nice place to be in albeit with friends and family.

food there is not a la carte but on a per head basis... which is ok
quality of food is pretty much ok...

would advise to also go there for a budget stay in the off season but only if you are group of 6-8 people....

then it would be very cheap... NEGOTIATE...

they will arrange for a safari for you....
