Beauval ZooParc was fantastic. Took our granddaughters on way home from holiday in France. One of the best zoos ever. The Jardin de Beauval hotel situated near enough to zoo for walking and was very comfortable with lovely pool. Good bar and restaurant.
We stayed here for a couple of nights when we went to visit the zoo. The rooms were great for families and had large comfy beds with crisp white bedding. There was tea and coffee in the rooms but no milk which might be annoying for some. There was a pleasant swimming pool which was welcome after a hot day at the zoo.
The dinner was great and cost 30 Euros for adults and 10
euros for children. There was an extensively stocked buffet with lots of choice. The breakfast was ok but a lot less impressive. The staff were all very efficient and helpful.
The zoo is an easy walk out through the back of the hotel and there is free parking at the front of the hotel.
The hotel is very family friendly, with a large swimming pool and beautifully landscaped grounds, and is a mere 10 minutes walk from the zoo, on a small path away from traffic. I would recommend the demi-pension (breakfast and dinner included) as the buffets are plentiful, beautifully presented and child-friendly.
This hotel has more of a feeling of a holiday resort, with its spacious beautiful landscaped gardens with its water features, swimming pool and palm tree greenery - in fact, given the proximity to the zoo, the owners actually could have saved themselves a fortune and built a simple 'budget' type hotel, for the punters would still book. One constructive critisism could be that, given that there are no tea/coffee making provisions in the rooms, as guests will likely have been walking all day around the zoo, a nice gesture might be the provision of bottled water in the rooms. There was however water available in the reception area. The restaurant offered a self service buffet evening meal and breakfast. Neither were necessarily cheap, but if one factors in the overall location, convenience, and quality of the food provided, then actually it all made for a very good couple of days stay.
A really attractive Balinese style hotel with the rooms in small units. Room and furnishings are pleasant especially if you look out on to the gardens. The ducks make a bit of a mess on the lower balconies so better not go out there!I am rather concerned about the baths as we all found them very slippery. A rubber bath mat would solve that problem. Also coming back from breakfast the staff were mopping the marble tiles which was a real safety hazard. health and safety would not approve. The breakfast and dinner buffets were fine but the hot vegetarian option was finished before we got there on both nights. The younger members of our family enjoyed the outdoor pool.
