The great minus of this hotel is its location. It is situated about 5 km from Famagusta and sits right next to a four-lane road with a lot of traffic well into the night. So light sleepers need to wear ear plugs. To balance this out somewhat there is a good-sized pool with fine cool water. However, the deckchairs are not so well looked after.
The room was big enough with a separate sitting room and TV and a balcony. However, the carpet is critical and there was only one bedside table and only one lamp. The bathroom was clean and generally OK, but water was leaking into the bathroom from under the shower tub.
Breakfast and dinner were average at best with no highlights whatsoever. The butter at breakfast was rancid on all three mornings. Starters were best, variation of main dishes was very limited, for desert there was custard on three consecutive days with only the colour changed. Generally, the quality of the ingredients was basic to low and the atmosphere was more like a cafeteria than a proper restaurant. However, service staff were doing their best and were friendly and helpful.
On settling the bill the exchange rate used was not in favour of the guests.
We were there with a group, but would certainly not have chosen it if we had arranged the itinerary ourselves.
here for 4 nights july 2019.
hotel is 5 miles from old town which was a little further than I thought, no local transport so needed taxis at £7 ish a trip.
hotel is modern clean and well set out. close to main rd but very little noise, 15mins to beach but there is a shuttle. very nice pool area.
rooms are comfortable clean well furnished with good bathroom.
pool area when we were there was very quiet, the guests were mainly turkish, cypriots, who dont seem to lie in the sun.
breakfast typical turkish style, salads, eggs, pastries juice coffee pastries, fruit, and all decent quality.
bar food was very nice if limited choice, chicken burgers etc.
at night small bar was very quiet, probably owing to the mix of guests, reasonably priced and pleasant bar man.
very little close by the restaraunts showing on google maps are long since closed, nearest were about 20/30mins walk away.
plenty of choice in town but it did need the taxi.
airport transfer from larnaca £100 return in private van , all companies charge teh same.
We stayed here for week in May and found the hotel really good.We had a ground floor room which opened onto the swimming pool terrace which was lovely, all the rooms have a small sitting room as well.
The one thing which lets this hotel down is the food in the restaurant, this is not good and meant we went out every evening which is not a problem as there are lots of nearby restaurants. You can also hire a bike and cycle around the ruins of Salamis just across the road, we found that to be a great way to see the ruins. We will go back.
Just returned from second stay at this excellent hotel. Ideal for those looking for a quiet stay with good facilities and friendly staff. Excellent pool and nearby Bedis Beach which has both shore restaurant and beach bar. Loungers and parasol free for hotel guests. Only reason I am not giving this 5 stars is (a) the hotel restaurant food is not too good (b) the locals drop bottles and cigarette ends all over the lovely beach AND even drop bottles in the sea!!
Stayed at Oscar Park for 3 nights as part of tour. A good hotel with all the rooms facing the central swimming pool apart from a very few. Spacious room with separate small room to watch TV. Breakfast was good. Overall enjoyed our stay.
