The hotel has good facilities (room, pool, fitness center, Taiwanese restaurant) and I can recommend staying here for short layovers, but it may be inconvenient for those looking to take in more of Taipei. The one-way trip via MRT basically ends up taking nearly an hour; any distance further from Taipei Main Station adds even more time. We didn't have any issues with airport noise or room facilities and amenities. The giant stuffed panda in our room did surprise us, though!
I stayed here for less the 24 hours on a lay over . Everything was great , first the shuttle has an assigned parking space at both airport terminals . When you get your luggage and ask where the shuttles are . Then you look to find the number that Novotel stops at . They come every 30 minutes , the shuttles are clean and roomy . The hotel is very nicely decorated and a beautiful lobby . The rooms are clean and at least our room had a view of the runway . They have one of the best hotel gyms I have ever seen , they have a pool that looks to be 25 m , with two lap swim lanes and a wading or swimming area . The hot tub is big enough that you can sit by yourself while the others could be yards away . My few very minor issues were that nothing near here , meaning stores or restaurants in walking distance and it seems they don’t clean the outside windows , such a great view would have been better if windows were clean but still a great place .
We were pleasantly surprised by the Novotel Taipei Taoyuan Intl. Airport. It is one of the nicest airport hotels I've ever stayed in. The room was comfortable and the gym/pool area was outstanding. Make sure to ask about the shuttle from the terminal. When I emailed the hotel, they told me to take a cab, but I later found out there was shuttle. Annoying but not a big deal.
We were connecting from London to Sydney and had an overnight in Taipei. The hotel shuttle was easy to find at terminal 1 (stop 1) and operates every half hour. We were given a lovely king room on the 7th floor with an amazing tarmac view. The room was large and comfortable. The hotel pool is huge with a hot tub area and sauna. The check in was great but the checkout was terrible. Really brusque and unfriendly. But I still give 5 stars as most staff were lovely. The hotel is right next to the MRT for easy access to downtown Taipei. We enjoyed a day of sightseeing.
Stayed one night on a stopover to Okinawa. I appreciate the 24 hour gym/fitness center. It is equipped with a rack of dumbbells up to 20kg, some other free weights, and a handful of cardio machines. More than enough room and gear to get in a decent workout. There is also a pool.
The breakfast buffet is massive, and will more them offset any workout, if you're not careful.
The rooms are comfortable and contemporary, as is the lobby.
There is some slight airplane noise from the nearby airport, but it would not stop me from staying here again.
