Beautiful place, sheltered away from all the hustle and bustle. It's nice and clean in the rooms with the air conditioning. Food is delicious and comes in huge portion sizes here...be warned. Pool looks great, although I didn't try it.
Only thing that bothered me: why does every key open every door? There's a safe, but I didn't feel completely secure leaving my stuff in my room knowing other people could just open the door.
Overall pleased with the experience :)
Ps. Try the run and raisin ice cream or one of the juices/shakes.
A nice and clean hotel in Port- au-Prince. Nice place to come home after a long day in the heat, dust and bumpy roads. Nice pool area, nice bar and restaurant. Water cooler where you can fill up your bottle for the day.
Restaurant was good and the plain spaghetti was actually quite delicious.
We bought mangos back to the restaurant and they served them to us for breakfast.
Free wifi in common areas. Satellite TV in room.
This hotel had friendly staff and the cleaning of public areas and my room was commendable. The room was basic with cold air conditioning, plus a fan. The bed was comfortable and I could get both a strong mobile phone signal and Internet access when in bad. The breakfasts were a little expensive relative to costs away from the hotel but the security in the hotel will more than make up for that for most. The dinners were both value-priced and enjoyable. I always eat outside with a view of the pool, inside was rather cold.
A lot of people use the pool and surrounding chairs. The outside bar is used by various and I enjoyed conversations with mostly French speakers, but the inside bar is too cold for my liking.
This was my first time in Haiti, i did not know that the hotel is actually in the neighborhood of residential house. You are about 2 hours away from the clear blue water beaches. i was able to use a cab or my friend drove me around. The hotel is clean and staff is helpful, but you should know french,at times it was difficult explaining myself. The food is good, very slow services, trick is you must call and hour before eating, use the room phone. I enjoyed the pool and basketball court.**** I did a documentary on Haiti you could see me swimming in the pool of the hotel. look up my name Jerard Washington on Youtube "Haiti 2014 working with the youth and Kafaou Haiti 2014 June. Good luck, have fun, be safe
The first time I went to this hotel was in 2010, months after the earthquake that devastated Port-Au-Prince and much of Haiti. When I flew into Port-Au-Prince, I did not think that there could be a place this nice still standing, considering the airport itself was still in shambles.
Nevertheless, during every annual visit, this hotel continues to stand the test of time. The pool is a welcome relief from the heat, the bar next to the pool is accommodating and enjoyable to lounge around after a long week of volunteering, and the breakfasts are filling and delicious. There is a safe in the room, a clean bathroom to use, and I slept very well during my stay.
All in all, if anyone needs to visit Haiti for a trip near Port-Au-Prince/Carrafour, I would highly recommend this hotel.
