After small booking hickup this was promptly and efficiently sorted by Mr Timmy and we thank him. We stayed in superior room very clean good size and good view. Wifi strong water pressure and temp good aircon quite and efficient. Cleaning staff do good job. All restaurant staff friendly and polite good menu and very nice food at reasonable price. Breakfast good large selection. Resort and grounds very clean and manicured. Swimming pools all very clean and inviting. Have beach access 5 minute walk from rear of resort. Out front of resort main street 2 minute walk many restaurants to choose from 7/11, family marts, doctors, subway, sturbucks, mcd, etc everything you could need. Can not fault anything with resort or staff would definatly recommend and stay again.

We fall in love with Peace Laguna Resort. Just like the name, it brings peace to us during our vacation. We booked standard room and the room is amazingly very spacious, very comfortable bed and clean. Bathroom also clean and has bath tub. The issue here only that the water pressure is quite slow. Perhaps it was because our room is at level 3.

They have 3 pools there. I found that their cottage room is very tempting. I wish next visit I could book cottage room nearby the lake & pool. The view and scenery is awesome. Very nice and calming.

The breakfast is average and I still consider as good (because I'm not very fussy about food). They provide cereal & milk, omelet, fruits, local menu (fried rice, fried noodles etc), breads and pastries. They also separate non-halal food at different table. So this make us very comfortable to had our breakfast there.

Staffs in Peace Laguna are very helpful and friendly. They always great us and smile whenever they see us. However, I hope they can improve service at the reception area. They should make the check in / check out process faster and no hassle.

The location is very decent. Peace Laguna located at Aonang, less than 10 minutes walk to the beach. There are so many attraction there; food, souvenir etc. Variety of food choices from local to international. Massage center is everywhere and the rate is very cheap price.

Recommended hotel.

We stayed at the Peace Laguna for 3 nights in mid-January 2009. We had 2 adjacent rooms in the “superior” complex which features low rise units with common walls. Note the back section has a lift and is four stories high and the front section (where we stayed on the 2nd floor) had no lift but is only 3 stories high. The superior section is just being finished so there is a bit of work going on and immediately adjacent they are building a restaurant and spa so there is some daytime noise but we didn’t find it a big problem. Other options include the very pretty free standing bungalows with semi-outdoor bathrooms which are clustered around 3 pools and a small lake. There is also an older “standard” room complex similar in style to the new “superior” section and from a distance it looked very pleasant as well.

Rooms in the superior section were very large 50+sqm featuring a king bed (heavenly soft compared to the average Thai bed!!!), and ensuite which was very pleasant (separate shower and bath). However the rooms are poorly finished and still need painting and some outdoor work.

The view to the east is that of the stunning karst-limestone mountain which separates AoNang from Railey. In fact the whole setting was very pretty and made the stay that much more enjoyable (Note the back 4-storey section of the superior room complex does not enjoy these views (except perhaps from the top floor(?). The 3 pools were pleasant and really great for the kids.

Check in was fine and staff were generally friendly although prone to over-confidence (I.e. promising the cost of tours at “X “and then having to apologise when they made the booking and realised it was more expensive! Also we paid upfront on arrival and then were told we had only paid for one room. While this was a legitimate mistake it was still annoying). Check out was a disaster as they tried to charge in our home currency when I specially requested Thai Baht (they do this to make a margin on the currency translation. When I insisted they corrected this they couldn’t and I was forced to pay with another credit card. This was all going on when our transport to take us to the ferry had arrived and we had we boxed into a corner with little sympathy from reception.

Internet connect failed on the last two days we were there with the only help from reception being “try tomorrow…”

The let down of the stay was the breakfast. While there was a reasonable range of options on the Western style buffet menu, all the hot food was not kept in proper warmers so quickly got cold. Coffee was poor. My daughter found ants in her maple syrup and little birds were allowed to fly around the open air breakfast area and peck at the food!

Overall we left with sour taste in our mout which was a shame because it is a beautiful location and could be really good with some attention to customer service.

The hotel is of a good standard, quite picturesque with multiple pools. The rooms are large and clean. The hotel generally has good accessability with flat walk ways, ramps and lifts available in most places.
The staff are all excellent.

The only reason for the average rating is for the current bulding works in the neighbouring site which is a source of noise. This has also stopped the direct access to the beach. Although it is just a 5min walk down the road instead.

Finally, please do NOT use the travel kiosk just outside the hotel (Fareeda Travel). Both of the trips we booked were late and we understand this is a common problem with this agent.

Have stayed both in cottage and rooms. Cottage was lovely and we really enjoyed the serenity. However second stay was after torrential rain and everything was flooded, including the pool. Pathways destroyed and gardens damaged which made getting around the resort a bit unpleasant.
About to return for third visit with family so (fingers crossed) no flooding this time. Good service by hotel in responding to email enquiries.

Hello there! We had two rooms during our stay, and I smoked at the balcony of our room and at the veranda of our villa. I did not see any signs that would have prohibited smoking. The views from the rooms are quite limited. The villa we stayed in by the lagoon was nice.
