The hotel is on a great location just on the coast. The beach is just 2 mins walking from the hotel. Easy to reach it by car. Only 20mins drive from Split. I had a great nap and enjoyed the breakfast on the terrace. Staff was really helpful and pleasant. Definitely a place to recommend.
First floor is handy with no lift. Stairs are not steep. Room is really large and everything is new and works. Balcony is a nice spot looking over the small harbour. Small Supermarket across the road for incidentals. Food at the restaurant is great, especially the fried fresh fish. (sold by weight) Coffee shop across the street has some vigorous local discussion at times. Swimming spot in either direction. The cook is lovely and Sonja is very helpful with good English. Local bus is cheapest unless you have a rental. (17 Kuna (3-4$) each way to Split)
Getting here: Airport shuttle to the bus terminal at the split ferry terminal 30 HKR, took a taxi to the hotel from there 200 HKR, however I've been told that taxi's is the most expensive way to travel in Croatia, pirate taxis will drive you there for half the price. Bus is the cheapest option! Bus to Omis from the hotel costs only 13 HKR and goes twice every hour. Approximately the same if you want to go to Split. The bus stops is very close to the hotel. There is one small beach in the front of the hotel, a bigger one 100 m in the Omis direction, we mainly used the latter, it also has a beach bar serving drinks. For food they only serve hot dogs 15 HKR. There is a restaurant behind the hotel, called Astoria, that is open from 10am, unlike the hotel restaurant that opens 3pm. This restaurant also serve a darker beer (porter-ish) if you're into that! Hotel has WiFi, but with very poor range. We lived on the first floor, furthest from the reception and barely got WiFi in the room (very unstable). In the restaurant and reception area the WiFi is good. The staff is very kind and helpful, one of them even gave us a free ride to Split. They can also help you book a boat trip to Brac which I can recommend, we paid 200 HKR each, It takes around 6 hours and the boat is docked right outside the hotel. I stayed at the hotel for one week with my girlfriend and we will recommend this hotel, it is nicely situated between Omis and Split, in a calm area. Note that there is not much to do around the hotel, but a nice place to relax during the day before you hit either Omis or Split.
overall the hotel is worth the value we paid to stay there. like a pervious review the dalmatian coast is expensive even at the end of the season, like our visit. Breakfast was good, lots of choice, the room was spacious with a balcony and a lovely view of the harbor. The staff were helpful, and the area very pleasant.
The harbor itself is lovely, their livelihood is fishing so you must expect lost of fishing boats, all up the coast. the beach however isn't really a beach, it is next to a small bar open all hours, which one night was very noisy. Also the hotel backs onto the main coastal road which again can be a bit noisy if you had all the windows open with passing traffic. If you walked 80m left you come a cross a pebble beach you can swim in, which is clean and has a bar open in season. There is only a small shop, restaurant and a post office in the town, so you have no choice to travel to split or Omis to go find good restaurants, and bars. ( a favorite of ours Marios and Jure on the way to Split) Its location isn't 20min from Split, you could not walk it, we walked 2hrs and hadn't even traveled half way. Bus's are good and cheap, some of the roads along this bit of coast are very dangerous to walk along, so try to bus it if you can.
This hotel is a good base, if you want to travel, I wouldn't recommend anywhere in croatia, if you don't expect to walk, it is expected of you. A lovely destination of would return to this part of Croatia.
I guess I have to preface this and say that you probably can't do much better in this part of Croatia but we were pretty disappointed with the hotel overall. The beach was scary - garbage floating in the water, the room was dirty and smelled like mold, the lights in the hallway didn't work, and we had to drive quite away to even find a place to eat.
I would try to find somewhere else to stay if you can.
