The manager Kirill and the very friendly staff, delivered impeccable and very attentive service during our stay. Though I am an experienced traveller I was still overwhelmed by the hospitality and professional yet still friendly and familial attitude we were treated with at all times during our stay. Nice and clean pool, great restaurant with reasonable prices and always fresh food including fish caught the same day at the local beach. Cannot recommend this place highly enough. We hope to come back some day.
We, a family of three with a 11 y.o., stayed at the Seven Turtles for five days over the Christmas break. The resort provided us with everything we looked for during the vacation. The resort is literally on the beach and you can hear waves from your room if you keep the balcony doors open. It was lovely and refreshing. The room we had was on the upper floor and faced the ocean. It was spacious and very clean, with all the necessary amenities. The bathroom and shower was very spacious too and we appreciated seeing stone shampoo bottles instead of the plastic ones. The balcony had an amazing view of the garden and the beach and was enjoyable both during the day and night. There were no mosquitos at the resort. The pool was amazing. We also loved the food at the restaurant. You can have a meal with a beautiful ocean view right on the beach. Breakfast was delicious, try the home made granola with fruits! And Sri Lankan breakfast was an amazing discovery, we highly recommend it if you like spicy food. They brew Lavazza coffee, which was a great addition to the breakfast. The dinners at the resort feature a great variety of Srilankan and Western dishes with a fresh catch of local seafood cooked to perfection. For Christmas, the resort management prepared a seafood buffet with Asian and Western food and exquisite desserts. Their chef Dima was very attentive to our suggestions and requests. The staff at the resort, from the owner to the grounds people, are super friendly and kind. The bar staff is fun to talk to and they make absolutely best cocktails and fresh juices. The owner went an extra mile and prepared gift bags for all the guests, with traditional Sri Lankan souvenirs. It was a very thoughtful and generous gesture. The resort offers several excursions at a very affordable price, we used a minivan hired by them to take us around Tangale and to Kandy. There are a couple of nice spas close to the hotel, and the staff can arrange your visit.
We will definitely return here one day, as we truly appreciated the professionalism and kindness of the staff, the comfort of the resort and the wild beach. Great job, Seven Turtles, and thank you for making our holiday an unforgettable one.
We just loved this hotel! We were really sad to leave it after 5 days of staying. The rooms are good, equipped with everything you need, and the hotel staff is always there in case of any additional requests. The territory is cozy and well organized, all the necessary points are close (bar, swimming pool, etc). It is also very green and you don‘t feel exhausted staying outside during the hot day. The bar is good and serve very tasty dishes. The can do various dishes, e.g. local Sri-Lankan food or international dishes. Breakfasts are tasty and big! 🙂 The beach is spacious, and most of the times you are alone or almost alone there 🙂 It‘s a pleasure to recommend such places!
Great location. Easy access to the beach. While the location itself was a little hard to reach, it was worth the ride. But the road leading to the hotel definitely can do with a lot of improvement. Nice pool with a beach view. Friendly and accommodating staff. A good selection of food was provided for each meal. Each of them was filling and delicious but breakfast alone was quite a spread and was of great value for money. Definitely loved the calm and quiet of the place as well as the private beach experience.
We stayed 2 nights at Seven Turtles and overall, we enjoyed our stay. We arrived in the area by bus and caught a tuk tuk from the bus station however the driver struggled to find the resort. Eventually we found it, quite a way out of town at the end of a dirt road. It is very private and there is not much else around in terms of food, drinks, shopping etc. Our room was okay, it wasn't overly clean and smelled a bit off but it was comfortable enough. The bathroom was very basic, the towels were old and crusty but they did the job. The ocean was very rough so we weren't able to swim in it but did make use of the pool which was lovely. The restaurant was great and very reasonably priced. Being vegan, there weren't a lot of options for us but we had the dahl many times - it was the best dahl we have EVER eaten (and we've eaten a lot of dahl over the years!). The staff were super friendly/welcoming and gave us lots of information about the area which was great and we loved the on site dogs, they were beautiful! There are also free bikes that we used to explore the surrounding area. If you're looking for somewhere out of town to completely relax and switch off, then Seven Turtles may be a good option.
