Pool review highlights
This small campsite offers privacy and great facilities . Situated in the beautiful Baviaanskloof it's just the place for walking, cycling or just relaxing. There is also a stunning rock pool in a lovely spot
Our experience at Duiwekloof was fantastic. The welcome was warm and inviting. The cottage was well kept and stocked. The most memorable moments were of the dog Chuwie (who doubles as a tour guide) and the rock pool.
Wow, what a surprise to end up here. No booking as the place were we did book - was really NOT up to standard. So we turned back the 3 km to the sign boards of Duiwekloof and we were welcomed by a very friendly staff member, beautiful camp site and a stunning pool and ablutions.

We booked the Honeymoon Cavern at Duiwekloof in Baviaanskloof (Baboon Canyon) Eastern Cape. It was a long drive to get here but if you are seeking solitude in a world heritable site about a half hour from the reserve this is for you. Our room was literally built into the mountainside. The shower is also carved out of rock and has two shower heads. They use a heating system that delivers immediate hot water, warm fluffy towels and even the loo has a view. This is a self catering resort meaning you bring your own food but there was breakfast available for an additional fee that needs to be preordered. An amply stocked kitchenette, sitting area, small deck with BBQ or a larger grill in the main kitchen area can be used. There are a few campsites, a larger cottage that sleeps six and a couple of small modern rooms. The Honeymoon Cavern has about a dozen steps or can be accessed via a small unpaved pathway. The ceiling was made from rock and low hanging in some areas but the other rooms had standard ceilings. Lovely fresh water pool, walking paths, areas to sit and enjoy the views. It can be very cold here at night but rooms are equipped with heaters. All solar no electricity. There is however a hot spot for WiFi. Overall I loved this unique peaceful place!
