Riverside Golf Course was great, the room was very spacious and clean but the bed was very hard. The staff were very nice and courteous. The pool was nice. If you like BBQing there is access to BBQ’s, we very much enjoyed our stay (other than the hard bed) We will go back again.
We booked in for five nights in March for a little ski vacation. We wouldn't even consider another location if coming back again to this area. Just a very nice stay.
We had a spacious one bedroom. It was very clean and well equipped. Everything worked well, staff were friendly, and the room was quiet.
To nitpick - it would be nice to have conditioner in addition to shampoo in the shower. We like king beds and only had a queen.
Really not much else to complain about. All good
Riverside is a marvelous destination in the middle of the Columbia River valley. The golf, the scenery, the hiking... The list could go on forever.
Riverside Resort offers 'A' units and 'B' units for every number. (eg: 101A, 101B) the units share a communal entrance, with separate locking doors. The 'A' side boasts a full kitchen, master bedroom, living room with pull-out couch, and an extra bathroom. The 'B' side is smaller and includes a bedroom with attached bathroom, a small sitting area with pull-out couch, and a kitchenette. Both side have their own decks with BBQ, and a shared laundry.
During our vacations we would always reserve a full unit (A and B) and would go with 6-8 people very comfortably.
While the resort has been around for many, many years, the upkeep has been quite good, and is ongoing. The central building houses an activity center, and an indoor pool, as well as tennis courts nearby. All buildings are set around the central hub and back onto the beautiful Riverside Golf Course; an excellent course for all skill levels.
In summary, I recommend this resort as a great getaway for people who are looking for a family escape.
PLEASE NOTE: This is not a luxury resort, but a good, family fun resort, great for relaxation.
We stayed in a two bedroom lockout with relatives overlooking the 17th tee. The villas are currently undergoing renovation. The villa was very spacious and comfortable. The renovated ones will be even better. Internet access was easy and consistent. The balcony was huge and opened to the bedroom and living area. Played both Riverside and Mountainside golf courses that were in very good condition. Exercise workout area is limited with a few machines. Staff was very courteous and helpful. We would definitely stay there again.
We were in a one bedroom/one bath unit in one of the Hillside buildings. We really lucked out with a great end unit on the 4th floor with a wonderful balcony with a great view. I would not have enjoyed one of the units that faced the parking lot or or without a view. I loved having a door to the balcony from the bedroom too. It was very clean and a bit worn but nothing bad. The gas grill on the balcony allowed us to grill which made for a great evening meal. I do hear that they may remove the grills at some point though.
The property has plenty of recreational activities and big pool with great sections for kids. We spent our days out hiking, rafting, and kayaking so by the time we returned to the resort we were too tired to do any of them. They are very friendly at check-in and when we rented ($5) a dvd to watch one night. There is a small "grocery store" but expensive.
There was free internet service but it was very slow in the early evenings when everyone else was getting online. Try to use the internet at off-times and you will have better luck.
The local grocery store and a few restaurants are very close. They were expensive but it was high season in August and not much competition to lower prices. We did buy eggs, bread, cereal, fruits, deli meat and snacks to eat breakfast and make sandwiches for daily outings. This did save money and was more convenient.
This would be a great place for families with the pool and other activities offered. We saw many children that looked like they were having a great time.
