Stayed for 2 nights while day tripping to points of interest in Cornwall. The room had a comfortable double bed with ensuite bathroom and shower. Small, flat Screen TV. Excellent WiFi. Communal Tea/Coffee making facilities in a cupboard outside the room. The Bed and Breakfast was situated in a quiet location not too far from St Mawes. Falmouth foot ferry is a short distance away as is King Harry's car ferry.

Arriving on a dark, rainy night it was very difficult to read the small illuminated sign which had a light grey background and white lettering! It would have been useful to have more power outlets in the room together with a desk, for those like me still have to work with a laptop even when on holiday!

Enjoyable full English breakfast. Ameila and Tim were friendly hosts.

We were warmly welcomed with a glass of wine and cup of tea which we took in the beautiful garden. Decor in the house was gorgeous. Our room was lovely - plenty of space, very nice en suite walk in shower, lovely firm mattress and crisp linens, towels from the white company. Everywhere was very clean. We were able to help ourselves to tea and fresh milk, with daily goodies like shortbread, from the pantry in the hallway. Breakfast was delicious with a daily special - I had scrambled eggs with salmon one day which was perfectly cooked. All guests ate together on a long table in the guest lounge, which was new to me, but we actually met some lovely people doing this. If I have one suggestion it would be to maybe extend the breakfast period by half an hour - just having an hour made us feel a bit rushed at times. Finally the house smelled lovely! I have bought myself the same diffuser from aromaworks to recreate that holiday feel! Thank you Nearwater for a great stay, we hope to be back .

My girlfriend and I had been recommended St Mawes over other busier parts of Cornwall, and it didn’t disappoint. We loved it, and a big part of that was the fantastic B&B we stayed in.

We were greeted with lovely drinks upon arrival (which we drank in the sun, in the garden) and taken to our room. The whole house is beautifully decorated, with stunning decor, a pantry full of teas, coffees and essentials (that you can help yourself to) and a lovely, sociable breakfast room.

The bedroom we stayed in (The Cabin) was really nicely kitted out. An excellent bed, great views and such a classy bathroom - it really felt like you were staying in a 5 star hotel. As the area is quiet, we slept really well and the bed was very comfy.

The breakfast offering is top notch - homemade granola, cereals, fresh fruit, toast and juice to help yourselves, fresh tea, and choice of full English or Tim’s special, which would change each day. Clearly he and Amelia are great cooks, and their customer service was nothing short of outstanding throughout. They were able to recommend great things to do and even offered for us to join them sailing. It was also lovely meeting their children and Musto the dog!

The walk to town was just a few minutes and picturesque - walking alongside the harbour. In town, there are a range of really nice pubs / restaurants. Of all the places we visited in Cornwall, St Mawes was our favourite, and Nearwater was a big part of it.

Every little thing was just done really well. Sweet pea flowers, white company towels - you could tell how much care they put in to their place, and that made our stay excellent. Couldn’t recommend this B&B highly enough - it’s the best one we’ve ever stayed in.

After a 7 hour drive from London we arrived at Nearwater to a lovely welcome and a delicious Pimms in the garden before rushing out again! Our room was quiet, airy, having windows on 3 sides, with very comfortable beds and lovely White Company bed linen. The bathroom was spacious and the shower had great pressure and their were fluffy white towels.
Amelia and Tim are great hosts and Amelia was extremely helpful with restaurant bookings. Breakfast is taken in a lovely room off the garden and there is always a full "Cornwall" available plus a special every day - well done Tim!
We travelled for a family wedding and the combination of a very happy occasion, fantastic weather and a stay Nearwater we felt blessed. Many thanks Amelia and Tim, we hope to see you again in lovely St Mawes

From the moment we arrived and were welcomed by Amelia we felt very much "at home" at Nearwater. The bedrooms have been well thought out and the bed was incredibly comfortable. Breakfasts were varied and delicious. Tim's scrambled egg was perfection. A stay at Nearwater is a wonderful experience in every way. Fabulous hosts, advice on "must-see" local places of interest, a beautiful location, a gorgeous garden and an untold number of little added extras that make this a first class choice. Thank you.
