This is a very old building, lots of character but in need of restoration. The rooms we had were dark and small, claustrophobic with the bathroom so small the door would not open back fully as it hit the toilet pan. This was a "large" room option but I would not like to have a standard room. The lift was noisy and tiny just enough room for 2 people and 2 cases. The car park is very, very small and thank you Bruno for your kind assistance in squeezing in our car! The staff make this hotel, they are helpful and polite, thank you.
We spent two nights at the end of July in Orange at the Kyriad. It is easily the most accessible place we have ever stayed in. Large room on the ground floor with a small private courtyard. Fully accessible bathroom with roll in shower and plenty of room. Beds are high enough to get the hoist under. They have recently renovated and I must say they’ve done a great job.
Only slight improvement would be if the floors were tiled throughout, or at least, not carpet. Carpet makes it difficult to move the hoist around.
The room is small, no view, no closet for the clothes only hangers on a rod, no fridge in the room, no room service even for breakfast. Only one towel per person. Furthermore, we paid 231,50€ for one night without breakfast when the maximum price on the door for this room was 150€. Is thie legal?
Stayed here recently for a one night stay on our way to Avignon. We had a lovely corner room which was a good size, especially for French hotels and was very clean. The hotel in general was good, could do with a bit of a face lift, but as we were only staying for one night it didn't bother us. It is within walking distance to the centre of town and I could not really fault the hotel at all. It is good value for money
After a VERY brusque welcome we were allocated a room which was, without doubt, the smallest hotel room I have ever stayed in.
There is nothing grand or particularly comfortable or friendly about this hotel but I find it strangely difficult to give it less than a rating of 3 based on the price and the very close proximity to the city centre.
Another reviewer commented on how far it was from the historic centre. I found this strange as it is less than 300m from the edge - how close do you need?
