We had a special arrangement, a coupon that "pays" the room under the condition to have dinner at the Hotel during ones stay. Not only were we given a choice of the room "comfort" or "comfort+ (with an extra price though), but we also could choose whatever we wanted from the different "menus". The food was excellent with surprising but tantalising dishes, and wine could be chosen by the glass. Breakfast was also just great with homemade jams, boiled eggs, different cheeses and ham as well as Danish pastry and delicious bread. And last but not least: the staff is very friendly and makes you feel welcome. If you travel to Aix-les-Bains we can only recommend this Hotel.
We stayed in AIx for one night and this hotel certainly served the purpose. Our corner room was large and immaculate with a modern bathroom filled with herbal amenities There's wifi throughout the hotel - however no English TV stations or minibar in the room. The elevator is tiny so we had to take our luggage up separately. The breakfast room is elegant and the food was OK. We don't; speak French so could not communicate well with the owners however, our host portrayed their graciousness.
The hotel location is great. At night we strolled out to the casino (Grand Cercle) right nearby and the main town square is a few feet away. There are nice shops and bakeries on the block and it was really a surprise to find everything so close by. The train station is a 5 minute walk away (Le Revard) and the town is very charming. There's an Orthodox synagogue and mikve around the corner from the hotel.
This hotel is a bit older, with a tiny elevator, but the point is it HAS an elevator. I sort of wandered here from the train station. Originally I was assigned a room on the 2nd floor, at one price, but the room seemed tired and you could hear people charging up and down the stairs. So I asked for and was given a room on the top floor, at another price. I'm a sensitive sleeper and to me the extra money was well worth it for peace and quiet and a far nicer room. There was climate control and a nice view over the rooftops to the mountains in the distance. I got a little bottle of wine at the supermarket down the street and just looked out over the rooftops and had an aperitif. I would definitely stay there again. I didn't have a balcony and I'm a little jealous of those who did but it was winter so I wouldn't have used it much anyway. The bath products were super nice too. Sage-scented.
Stayed for 2 nights, my wife and I. The room was clean, spacious, good value for money. The hotel is very well located, 2 mins t al the shops and most of the restaurants. The room could have done with A/C, because with the windows open it was very noisy, cars, etc… They have shared underground parking with Hotel Agora just opposite. The Hotel has been well renovated with a good bright modern feel to it.
Breakfast was extra we were only charged 12E/day for both of us, not sure if that was a mistake. Standard continental spread, nothing special but certainly value for money.
We stayed here a few years ago which we enjoyed. Since the Hotel has had a furbishment , which has been tastefully done. New reception area, with a very helpful young lady. Our room was superb, we had a huge balcony which was a great sun trap, plus view looking towards the alps. The breakfast room was very nicely decorated. The rooms was light clean and Ailey, there was a safe in the wardrobe.
The breakfast was wonderful so much choice and everything fresh . The staff were very helpful and friendly. We had use of the garage which was a few streets away. Would go back anytime. There was a selection of paperback books to swap as you went up the stairs, sadly not many English titles.
