Over the Easter break a group of 4 of us stayed in the Town Apartments.

Having read reviews we were a little bit dubious about the apartments because of talk of rats and frequent disappointments over cancellations etc. When we first arrived the exterior of the apartment was certainly underwhelming and was clearly in the midst of a renovation. Inside some pipes were on display that probably should really have been covered up.

However, the apartment met all of our needs and was very well appointed along with being clean. The kitchen facilities were very good, the lounge/dining room area was spacious with a good table and seating area. Beds were comfortable. There was a bathroom and a second toilet downstairs which was very handy. The location itself was very convenient for sightseeing and being just around the corner from Checkpoint Charlie is a very easy location to navigate to. The Metro stops were approximately 5 minutes walk away. The apartment felt like good value

There were a couple of small grumbles we had as a group. Once checked out (or awaiting check-in) there's not a secure lockup area for luggage to be stored so we had to keep our luggage with us. There was also only one key for the apartment and we'd have really benefited from a second key.

You cannot feel safe in this place.
We made reservation in this town centre apartments. We ve tried to reach their management to confirm our time of arrival but nobody neither responded to our e mails nor phone calls. When we arrived we found out that there is a small reception room on the back yard of the apartments. We made check in (they told us that they haven't got our emails/calls) got our keys (just one for the group of 6) and enter our apartment.
Building is very old, with dirty staircases and entrances. There is no CCTV (except for the garbage bins) Hot water is not stable so you can burn or freeze, the toiletseat was barely hanging, walls needed fresh paint, internet signal is very weak, rooms are very dirty and ceiling in the bathroom is covered with the fungi. Photos of the apartment on the website do not match real picture of this place. But lets move on..
We left our stuff in our rooms and went for a short walk. When we came back we found out that our valuables were stolen. When we tried to speak with the reception girl named Irina who was on duty this time she was very rude and unhelpful and suggested us to forget what happened, because nobody will help us there, but she reassure us that “dont worry, robbers come only once”.
Police told us that there are many cases like that at this place, and its very hard to find who broke in. So I would like to inform future visitors of this place to keep an eye on your valuables. As for me - I will not recommend to stay in this place and never will come again.

Just returned home from a hen weekend we had booked via red7. Group of 15. Buildings old and grey run down looking next to dominos. Reception staff told us at 2.15 that only one of our rooms were ready after telling us that we had to stay in the apartment that fitted 14 and one had to sleep on a camp bed. They had not previosuly informed us of this or to the fact that there was in one flat : 1 room with 1 double bed and the only other room had 2 singles. The other room flat 4 third floor had 2 rooms : one double bed and the other with two singles. This meant that 4 people had to sleep on sofas and one on a camp bed!! They were reluctant to even supply the correct number of sheets for the beds and then they brought up a camp bed that when one of the girls managed to unfold it contained a dog bone!! We went down and told management and they couldnt have cared less they never appologised and just brought up another one that had leaves on it!. The shower was fine in flat 3 third floor but in flat 4 there was no hot water - we informed the management of this as we had to have cold showers but again they didnt act on it or refund any money. There isnt enough utensils/glasses ect. The bathrooms needed badly renovating. I left my bag in the room and when i asked the staff if he could post it to me he said "maybe"?!?! It contains my cards ect and they appear very untrusting. I will update you all if they do return this to me as from reading from there history i think they will just keep it. If they do i will be involving the police.

Modern, Clean with a lot of space. Nice matresses, my room had 2 bathrooms, big tv and a really nice living room. Excellent for big groups i would reccomend it for sure. It is also 1 min from checkpoint charlie and the metro station.

Town Apartments Checkpoint Charlie. We had two bedroom apartment in 3rd floor. Apartment clean, spacious but little worn. Some noises from bars nearby and from neighbors. Metrostation near and easy travel round Berlin. Checkout time 11 oclock and we did not get later checkout. Luggage can leave to room near reception but they want to get 2 euros/luggage for storage. That I felt funny and ridiculous:) Been travelling quite a lot but first time asked money for storage luggage.
